Triumph TR6 - It is painted!

Well, on April 15, 2011 I purchased a 1975 Triumph TR6 that had been in storage for over 20 years. Over the years I pulled off the body, cleaned frame, new everything as far as bushings, seals, ball joints, etc. Body went back on and car set for a period . Finally rounded up a buddy who just retired who knows how to paint. We stripped the car to bare metal, expoxy coat, filler/primer, base and clearcoat. So, in 4 years this is my progress to date. These past few weeks been busy ordering complete interior, wiring harness and a bunch of mechanicals --- assume over the next year it will finally be completed. The car theme is white -- I have a 1959 MGA with the stock white color and I have a 1934 all steel Ford streetrod which is all white. Will post when I finish. Yesterday I went thru the parts shelf and there were some parts that I am unsure where they go. I did take pictures but if I fail to figure out expect a picture and post asking for your help. For those of you who are 68 , you can appreciate the forgetting part :)

That looks fantastic. She's gonna be a beauty.

Lookin good Russ. But please don't remind me about the forgetting part. It's hitting me at 54. I had forgotten how much I forget. :-)

White is a sharp look.

Looks great... welcome to the no.19 white-TR6-club...I think that Bob in NFL also has a white 6.
I refuse to tell anyone how long I've been working on this thing, much too embarrassing. I did build a house , restore three Spitfires, move, move again, change jobs and do life in the interim however.

Cheers, Rob

Yes, I also have finished a Spit, relocated back to NL, started a new job, but will admit to starting the project in 2004.

Last week I replaced the brakes lines that I had made with a set of copper-nickel ones. The body alas is still out side the body shop (good job that I used POR-15 on parts that are not being replace). The message I get is next week will see the panels replaced..next week never comes....The car was orignally blue, then white, so now its going to be "Old English White" I think the BL code is WT-3

Congratulations Russ - looks like a great job. Hey Rob in BC - coincidentally it appears I may have the same wheels for mine but unfortunately still in the box. Mine a re Konig Rewinds. Also, it is interesting how alike our underbonnet pics are. Here's mine with the insulation kit.
Cheers,
Bob

Hello Bob,

Of topic questions: what color is your TR6?

I never saw such color on a TR6, it is nice and a rarity?

Bonjour Jean G:
It should probably be called Accidental White. Only problem is the whole under bonnet area is that color and the outside of the car is a brighter white. Despite having their own spec sheet from the paint they supplied when I painted the car in 2005 and a front fender bolt and washer, they managed to come up with a different shade of white that was not so noticeable to my somewhat color-challenged eyes under fluorescent light. If I keep the car and paint it again I will simply get that mix for the body. I'm not really sure what shade of white it is. I can try to get it if you want it.
Cheers,
Bob

Im envious of you all, no matter what colour accidental or otherwise your 6's are. See the image, mine has and still is outside the body shop.....

One lives in hope
