Triumph TR6 - Lightened flywheels?
We got a "lightened" flywheel for the 71 TR6. It is almost identical in weight and thickness to the original--Clive measured it and says they shimmed off 4/1000's of an inch. If this isn't just a mistake by TRF, it is a rip off and everyone needs to be careful about it. Has anyone else with an earlier TR6 had any experience with ordering the lightened flywheel, but not the aluminum one? John |

John, If you're dissatisfied, call John Swauger at TRF and tell him. I'm sure he'll refund your money. db |

This should be interesting. Let us know what they say John. Rick C |

Does TRF give a spec for the lightened flywheel? I'm sure it was a mixup. Acutally, I'm surprised any shop will do that machining anymore (liability). Rick O. 72 TR6 |

I'm considering an alloy flywheel rather than taking steel off the one I have. Anyone have a recommendation as to source and price? Thanks. db |

Contact Ted Schumacher at TSI. He's a great guy with some great stuff. I've got his alum flywheel. NFI, very satisfied customer. |

Guys, I took the flywheel to UPS finally, to get it sent back. It weighs 20.7 pounds. Clive measured it and found they had removed 4/1000's of an inch, and no significant weight at all. Back it goes! John |
