Triumph TR6 - low beam head lights not working
I'm a new Triumph owner.I have a 1970 Triumph TR-6 and when I turn on my head light they only turn the high beams, when I press the dip switch for the low beams the lights go off. Any idea’s? |

OK ,that was to keep up the reputation. Do you have Dan Masters Schematics? http://www.advanceautowire.com/tr2506.pdf Time to do a little back tracking |

Don, Thanks for the Schematics, Looking at Schematic, it's either the lights or the dimmer switch |

Steve Don't forget to check the wire connectors that connect the wiring harness to the light fixtures and dimmer switch as well- particularly the one that connects at the left light and feeds the right light. If it is corroded or broken you get the same result- no low beam. |

Mine did the same thing when I got it and it was the connections behind the grill area..YMMV. Check all connections before you mess with the switches. |

After several days and many hours spent checking and studying the schematics, I mentioned to a friend of mine the problem I was having, he then asked me if I had checked if the low-beam lights bulbs were working. Well guess what? Both light bulbs were out. Great lesson learned today, always start with the most simple reason something might not be working. I have since been to the auto parts store, and believe it or not my low beams now work. |
