Triumph TR6 - master cylinder

I took my master cylinder off of my booster and I can not remember the correct arrangement of the brake lines that go to the four way fitting on my 72. Can anyone help. After this I have learned a great use for my digetal camera. Thanks Dave

Dave, Yeah those little sucker's come in real handy for these jobs. On my 72 the setup is like this as you look down from driver's side of car. Master cylinder front pipe goes to back inlet of the pdwa. rear pipe goes to the front of the pdwa. The master is pretty straight forward as to which reservoir is which for front and rear the front holds more sauce. The pdwa is the pressure sensing valve that shuts down part of your brake system during failure. As you look down it has 2 pipes out on 1 side and 2 in on the other and most have an electrical connector on top. If you need a picture I can email you one after the weekend, e-mail me and I will follow up with it. Also TRF blue catalogue page #243 shows pretty good pics of the pdwa setup and pipes previous pages have the master pics.

While we're on PDWA's, I remember from somewhere that a suitable replacement sensing switch could be had from, of all places, Ford. Am I dreaming this?

Rick, I heard that Ford uses the same connector that attaches to the PDWA switch but do not have any other info. I plan on looking into this further.

I did finally receive a backordered PDWA switch from TRF, pricey but almost exactly as original. The switch was used on several 1970's cars incl. Volvo and Saab I believe.

Funny you should mention using a camera, digital or film, to photo the disassembly.

I used to use a Nikon 35mm camera to photograph the things I was taking apart. I recently upgraded to a Sony 717 digital still camera. I don't mean for this to be an advertisement, but the detail that this camera picks up is phenomenal - it rivals fine-grained film, and is better than high speed film (even though the equivalent digital film speed (ISO or ASA) can be as high as 800. At 5 megapixels, you can get up to 2 FOOT x 3 FOOT photographs, when viewed at the moniter resolution, or at least 11x17 inch photos when printed.

It's also alot easier to sort and file your photos digitally, since you can create folders that organize different areas - and you can copy a photo that you need to place in two or more folders without wasting more film or running to a processor for copies.

Now all I have to do is find the time to actually work on the car AND take some pictures.

Thanks all I thought the arrangement was like that but I really hate doing things twice. Using the digital camera I am building a virtual album and plan to run it as a display at shows on my lap top instead of the tradition display board with photos. Dave

Wayne--My post was referring to the PDWA switch itself, not the harness connector.

Check the archives I think Rick C mentioned it back on my last discussion of things that make us stop. I think it was master cylinders and servo's in the title. You are right it was the connector not the harness.

yup, it was me...it looks like the thread has gone to archive but I am sure it was in December. It is the exact connector that threads into the PDWA that I talked about...the plastic one that can break! The brass PDWA itself I am not sure if it is identical or not but could be..after all, it was for same purpose.
