Triumph TR6 - New Carpet Set

Hi, Board
Wish you have a wonderful new year!
It is cold here today, and it can't keep me dreaming....supercharger......200HP.......overdrive...four piston calipers and slotted and drilled rotors ...new top.......new seats........new carpet
Well, I guess I have to start last thing first. My carpet is in tartars. A few months back, someone link a company from Florida that sell carpet for the 6 through ebay. But I can't find it from the archive nor through ebay.
Did anybody have information on this company? I think the price was $139 and they have the shadow blue that I want.
Thanks in advance.

I can sell you a brand new, black carpet set for a TR 6 for that price.Bought a brown tr6 that came with an un opened black carpet set and not a cheapie either. I think it came out of Roadster Factory catalog.

Paddy,

I bought the shadow blue set from Euroclassictrim on ebay. He's in Florida. It's a nice set, but not for a show car. If you're looking for a good replacement for a driver, it will definitely work. If you need interior installation instructions, I have those for the asking.

Thanks Don,
That is what I am looking for. If you can Email me the instructions. I am on the waiting list of Rick's CD. But I am certainly can use it now. Hey, how about sent one to Rick so he can compile it into 'the CD'.
Did you use glue or snaps?
Paddy

Paddy,

I used glue on everything except the front floorpans. They're loose now, but I plan on installing snaps if I ever get the time.

Instructions are on the way and I'll CC Rick with them.

I just ordered a complete new interior, less carpets in New Tan for my '73 and new chrome wire wheels as well.

I notice the price of carpets at TRF was $500 (nylon) or $600 (wool). Anybody know why these are so expensive?

Also, what would you recommend for New Tan - the Medium Tan or the Light Tan? Any special preferences? Which most closely matched the stock color.
Bob Blair

Bob- isn't it a little late to be asking questions on color after you ordered?. The colors are all different and it matters on year of car. You should of asked for samples of the different shades. The TRF are made here and I would guess that if it is the same as the rest of their merchandise it will probable fit better and install easier. I have never installed their carpets I am just taking a guess. I plan on using the Magic Carpet set in my car when I get to that point.

Bob,
On my 72 with new tan interior, I found the dark tan carpet to most closely match the original carpet color.

I got mine from TRF/Magic Carpet Factory.

Bob:
I'm looking for a set of replacement interior panels, preferrably black for my '73. Did you pitch you old set?

Bryn

Don - I haven't ordered the carpets yet, but everything else I ordered was in New Tan. I noticed the difference in carpet tans, and was going to order them after deciding on which tan (medium, light, etc.) best suited my need at a later date. The Seats and Interior Panels only come in one shade of New Tan, so I felt fairly safe ordering them. I did advise TRF that the interior was for a '73, and was I careful to match the various years to New Tan. I will take your advice and request samples of the carpet - Thanks for the idea.

Mark - Thanks. Maybe you could send me a photo of how it looks (drop the "x"s off of my e-mail address)

Bryn - The takeoffs were indeed BLACK! (and original) and I don't believe I've pitched them - they should be on a shelf in the garage - I will look this weekend and take photo so that you can better see if they will fit your need before sending them to you - Freebie - if you'll reimburse postage. I will also have two black seat covers, which are in very good shape (well, whatever shape you can have when the foam has gone to dust!!!) but they will only be available (another freebie) when I get the seats restrapped, refoamed, and recovered. Send me your e-mail address (drop the "x"s off of e-mail address). I may also have a black top cover.

Bob...I have a stupid question...well not stupid to me since I don't know.

What is with the "x" in the email address and then removing the "x's"? Does this help prevent spammers?
Seems like spammer would get wise and have their programs remove all "x"'s at the beginning of each word.
I see a lot of people referring to deleting the "x"'s in their email but only on this BB.

If it's top secret then you can email me.

Thanks

Yep - one of our beloved members mentioned doing this to prevent unwanted crap in our e-mail boxes. Seems that some individuals use software to copy the e-mail addresses, but it doesn't know to drop the x's. Some other members spell "at" instead of "@" as another method of keeping spammers away.

And yes, it is top secret, so now you will have to die. Sorry about that. Will you name me in your will as the heir to your '6?

p.s - I really am a member, but I only show up as a member when I'm on my laptop (read: at work!). When I log in at home, I always show up as a non-member, but it's probably because I by-pass the home page and go directly to this forum.

And you are right - there are no stupid questions. I have spent an entire career asking questions (engineering forensics), and figuring out the answers, just as you did.
Bob Blair

Thanks for the explanation Bob. And no...you can't have my 6. I'm going to be buried in it.
