Triumph TR6 - New Start to things

Signed off on the inspection report on our house so as of last Friday the relocation company now owns our house.
The movers show up on Tuesday and will finish on Friday.
Plans are to be on a plane with the dog on Sunday and to rejoin my wife and son who I have not seen for a month and a half.

Thank you Seattle for the good times, the friends I have made , and the rain. The last 2 months the weather has been as good as I have ever seen it and I appreciate the going away present!

Hopefully you have as nice a garage down south as you had in SEATAC.

Was nice visiting you those 2 times. Maybe get to see you down south.

Rick- The e mail I have for you bounced
The problem with the east coast is that almost all houses have 2 car garages.
A lot of work to find a 3 car in a fancy neighbor hood my wife needs to live in
DON KELLY

Here it is

edit as usual
Rick Crawford

Rick, not to hijack Don's thread, but I note in your vehicle profile that you list your CR for your 71 as 7.75:1. Do you have an 72-73 engine? Was not the stock CR of the 69-71-8.5:1?

Well, I'm here in Charleston.
Middle of Oct. and I'm still in shorts and flippies!
Gotta love that.
DON KELLY

1/3 of the way through November and I am in shorts and flip flops.

So far so good
DON KELLY

Don,
Enjoy those sea breezes, but watch out for the hurricanes. It's gotten into the low thirties here with frost a couple of times. After such a hot summer, it's bound to be really cold winter. Got my frame off to the sand blaster and then to the PC guy. Maybe this next week I'll have some photos.

Sorry. No help from me
DON KELLY

Don

Have you got room to add another bay to the garage?

Looks like you will get "extra" months in the wedge!
What is your new e-mail address? E-mail me if you do not want to post it out in open here.

Thought I did Rick.
The style of house we are looking at the whole foot print is the garage as the house is built above the garage.
See pic
We were negotiating on building this one and asked for it to be enlarged. The builder came back with a 40K increase which we thought excessive but livable.
When we wrote out in the contract what we wanted included, that was shown in the plans, they bumped it another 26K.
We told them to stick it.
Back to the drawing board and time is ticking

Very nice home Don. Your new home looks like a very classic style "double piazza" home. So is the whole ground floor open?
Last year while taking my Dad to FL, We stopped in Charleston for 2 days and stayed on E Bay St in the French Quarter. Absolutely fantastic historic town.

This year we drive him home so not sure where we will stay.
Enjoy your new digs Don and a longer driving season.

Looks like that home pictured is a memory now.
They never came back with a new price so the hunting continues.
We really like that "double piazza" style.
Not a lot of them for sale
DON KELLY

Keep up the search. A very beautiful style of home.
Very classic southern "very rich" style of home. The original piazza style had the porch just on the full length right side of the house with a closed entrance so that the owners could decide if they wanted to receive the walkers buy potential guests that evening or Sunday afternoon. The higher ups made the home bigger and put the porch across the front of the house. The purpose of the porch...was to go outside in a shaded area to get any possible breeze from the hot summer days.

I really enjoyed the history and unbelievable architecture of Charleston.

Don-I think you could find happiness at Boonehall plantation. Plenty of out buildings for shop, guests, and housing for the help. Used to be one of our favorite places to visit when we were in Charleston. I had delusions of being Rhett Butler.
Berry
BTP Price

I heard one of the most used places for movies.
They had reenactments last week
this week end it's Christopher Cross and wine.
It's about 2 miles from where our temporary living is.
Haven't been there yet but will
Though Berry, think the help cost would cash me out
DON KELLY

Put an offer on a house with a counter offer already. Not quite the Piazza style we wanted but does have more garage space.

DON KELLY

It's ours and we move in on the 20th of Dec
DON KELLY

Don,
Congratulations, Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas in your new home!
