Triumph TR6 - Off-Topic: Heated Auto Bay Rental in Kingston, ON?

I'm in need of finding a U Fix It Auto Bay Rental facility in (or near) Kingston ON.

I have a car stereo to install for my nephew (who plays for the Frontenacs), and with the weather, it's too cold to do in a non-heated environment.

Appreciate any info.

Thanks,
Peter...

Hi Peter

Don't know of anything over that way and for that matter most have closed up I've ever heard of? Nobody wants to pay 40 bucks an hour for space. But they can't survive on less?

May I suggest a pair of Work King or any other winter coveralls. Bout the same price as a 2 hour bay rental and last forever. I do have a small heated shop but wind up working outside half the time because theres always something else in the way. For that matter when I had a large heated shop there was just more stuff in the way so back outside..:)

Long as your out of the wind. Warm up the car. If you have the adaptors from the stereo installers? Well worth it. Its an hour job.

Now if your putting in major Kaboom stuff?? Thats another story.

By the way. In (Storm) town here. They usually sign a nice non team picture commending the shop for there great support and help installing there stereo. Amateur is a fine line. Perks are apreciated and offered readily. May save freezing your butt?

Check below - The guys and gals of the Kingston club must have a warm space they could let you have for an hour or two.

Thanks all. For "the record," I'm too old to still be doing stereo installs in the cold. Might have to wait for Spring.

Don, I submitted an ad on their site, and noticed a Winter Storage place in Kingston listed. A couple of good leads. Thanks!

Age has nothing to do with it? Very few of my young friends attack and deal with things as I do. Don't get me wrong I look at problems from an old pioneer farmers perspective. There is always a way. If you don't find the way you freeze and die!

Uncle George at 81 still cuts splits and stacks his own firewood. And helps others do the same. Its his thing. Furnace is an oil/wood split. Up in North Sask. thats a lot of wood.

As for me. I just enjoy amazing the young bucks. Always hope some will get a brainwave past sevice centers and Walmart? Self reliance?

I'm in the 60s range. Spent the afternoon painting a rocker panel on the truck. Outside. Heatgun keeping the metal warm so the paint cures reasonable. Cardboard keeping me warm on a gravel laneway laying on my side..:)

Too each there own.

Hey Don..:)

Don't you hate relying on others to fix things? Hope all is going well.

Peter,
One private place in north end of Toronto. 27 and Albion I believe.

Well, you'll be pleased to know that this "old fart" did one last hurrah and got the nephew's car stereo installed this past week (outdoors in Kingston).

His smile was from ear to ear.

Merry Christams to all!
