Triumph TR6 - Oil pressure gauge
I have removed my dash for refinishing. When I reinstall the oil pressure gauge line does it need to be "bled" to get air out for proper pressure reading or is this not a problem? I guess what I am asking is it air or oil pressure in that line? Thanks Rick C |

The tube feeding the Oil Pressure gauge on my TR3A has a brass hex connection just below the master brake cylinder and above my "petrol pump". That fitting is always the last item to tighten on the oil pressure line. I've never had to bleed mine whenever I reconnected it. Don Elliott, 1958 TR3A |

Rick--I wouldn't think you'd have too since any trapped air will simply be compressed to a much smaller volume by the oil pressing into the line. The correct pressure will be transmitted through the air slug. I bet the air will eventually bleed through the gauge fitting anyway. Rick O. |

In fact a little air in the line may help dampen the pressure spike at start-up. Don't know if it will help reduce any "hammer" effect, but it won't hurt. Brent |

Hi Rick I didn't bleed mine and I've had no problems Ron |

Hi Rick, I've had mine off a couple of times with no problem Cheers Charlie |
