Triumph TR6 - Outer Sills

Silly question time.

I have a pair of fibreglass outer sills. I do intend to replace inner & outer sills & floor panels, so the question is should I install the fibreglass or go with my first choice of steel?

Follow this mantra:

Make it real, make it steel!

Hi Les,
I agree with Steve. How do you attach fiberglass to the inner sill, end caps and A & B pillar? Do you use rivets, glue?
The sills are a major structural part of the body and door section.

"How do you attach fiberglass to the inner sill, end caps and A & B pillar? Do you use rivets, glue?"

And this question leads us to the second standard metal weenie mantra:

Screw it, don't glue it

Of course in the case of the sills, it would be a weld. In this application that is fine, but there are some applications where "weld" is a four letter word.

Go with Steel Les

Go for it Les - and don't forget to support the doors

See I knew it was a silly question...steel it will be.
