Triumph TR6 - phoenix ss exhaust

Just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of a phoenix ss exhaust system?Found this at quiller triumph in the uk.Iam thinking about a new system for my car,any suggestions
ian

Hi Ian. I cannot speak for Phoenix SS systems but the fellow handling the restoration on my 76 is using a Double S system. He's confident that it will flow and perform well. Here's a link so you can compare. Ken

Hello Ian,

My TR6 has a Stebro SS-free-flow, made in Ontario for many years (and I tried 3 diff free-flow system). And up to now it is the best I bought.

The Double S iis a great system and good folks to work with,I only wish I hadn't bought the falcon system I got.

Thanks for the great advice guys.Checked out double d ,nice! also checked out stebro,no pics yet but they are a quad exhaust, guessing like a monza except ss

Ian,

The only simalarity Stebro has with Monza is a system with double exhaust with a resonator and a larger one (i.e.4 total). A concept shared by ANSA also ( a good system non-SS). But the comparaison stops there. Stebro gives a deep sound, not noise like Monza pacesetter. I have tried the 3 systems and my order of preference is:

Stebro- Ansa- Monza( not to be consider in any circumstance)

I have a Double S system that came with the car. It sounds good, loud enough so can you appreciate the 6 without being too offensive and fits pretty reasonably well.

When I do the suspension and sort out the underside I will get it to fit 100% with all the right clamps that the PO didn't appear to have at the time.

Hey Sid

How does the Double S system exit the rear of your car? Twin pipes, left side as was stock or single pipes on either side with an upswept design? If the latter, can you send me a picture?

I have a Phoenix exhaust. Nice smooth mandrel bends. Much better than the section of exhaust I got from TRF that links the exhaust manifold to the Phoenix pipes. The Quiller Phoenix exhaust only came with the mufflers and the pipes in front of them and the tail pipes. I wish I had known that because I would have requested the pipes off the exhaust manifold also. High quality stuff. Look fantastic. Loud, the way I like it. I feel like the guy on the Speed Channel show, "Victory by Design". Just need that Moss supercharger next.

Ken ... The SS I have looks like a stainless version of the standard system, twin pipes exiting on the left.
