Triumph TR6 - Progammable ignition advance (finally!)

There is an Oz (Melbourne) based company which is in the final weeks of development of a programmable ignition advance module for commercial release. It'll be a boon to the owners of LBC's from Mini's to Jags.
(I should be using one of the first by late August). The retail price is likely be just over $200(USD) and (at this stage) will work with Pirhana & Crane/Allison electronic ignition systems. It will also be able to be used with genuine 'high energy' coils.

Let me preface this next bit by saying that I am not a young girl of 22 years and my name is not Philip!!!!!!!! (I would have thought the webby may have removed that crap from the 'Supercharged TR6' thread - but I digress......)

If anyone is SERIOUSLY interested in becoming involved in US distribution of the unit I can give you more info. They already have the Europeans interested and are only weeks away from going to market here. They are also currently in talks with a Ferrari aligned distributor.

At the very least, I will soon be able to pass on the contact info where you will be able to buy direct.

Fantastic News Roger. Definitely post the contact info as I'll be very interested. I've just spent a bunch of time with an antique distributor machine and about 27 little springs trying to create an advance curve I can live with --
Now, about that 22 year year old maiden in Africa with the Big problem - as Brent said , it'll be our little secret.
And seriously, thanks for continuing to post excellent info, comments and suggestions -

I would be interested in seeing contact info posted, especially if there is some technical information on a website.

Roger,

If I want adjustable and programmable ignition timing control why wouldn't I go with the tried and true MSD unit for under $150?

===================================
The MSD allows for the selection of the rpm that the timing curve will begin and end along with how many degrees of retard or advance. Easily adjusted with plug-in modules.

Advance or retard the timing at any rpm to produce more power

Two start retard rates to ease cranking on locked-out engine

Two retard modules that can be used independently

Your product is competing in a space that the big boys have been in for a very long time.

John, maybe these guys have built the proverbial better mouse trap. I have known about the MSD units for years, even used them. How does this new one tie into the system, what are the dimensions, what is the control logic, etc. These things really come into play on a car that someone may want to appear stock while providing a bit of that "modern design" that Bugs Bunny was known to carry on about.
SteveP

Yep - I agree, Steve. Can't wait to see more about it.
