Triumph TR6 - Radio Installation

I recently installed a new Retro Sound Model One in my TR. The radio fits great and looks good, speakers wired up okay. What I am not sure about is what I should connect the radio battery wire to. The radio is grounded okay as is the wire to the ignition. Radio requires constant power in order to keep presets and clock on. Any ideas welcome. Shawn 74.5

Do you have 2 power wires- one for power all the time for the clock and presets and the other for the radio itself? Thats what it sounds like.

I would connect the power all the time lead to the power terminal at the ignition switch. (the lead from the battery to the ignition switch)

The radio power would go to the Accessory terminal on the ignition switch (gives power when in accessory position and when ignition on)

Enjoy

Hi Mike,

I connected the wire coming out of the radio marked "ignition" to the aleady existing red wire to the car ignition (has an in line fuse). The other remaining wire coming out of the radio is marked "battery". I have run this wire from the radio through the firewall to the engine well. I am not sure at this point where this wire marked "battery" should be connected. Shawn

To the battery

As Don indicates the battery is a good spot but if you have it through the wall - connecting to any "live" terminal point (fuse box, positive battery terminal) would do the trick.

Any always hot connector. That would be Purple. I forget we are talking TR's here.
