Triumph TR6 - Rear Brake Pipes

I'm having brake problems stemming to a leaking LH rear brake pipe. I would like to know if anyone has any spares to sell or knows of a place online that I may be able to purchase some...aside from Moss (who doesn't carry them individually), Victoria Britsh (who keeps sending me the wrong parts), or The Roadster Factory (who never keep them stocked).

Hi George,
If the leak is from the nut have you tried loosening it then re-tightening it? sometimes just a wee bit more seals it. If not it's more fun fabricating your own...you'll need a flaring kit..(not expensive) and MAYBE a pipe bender..(not expensive), new steel pipe and maybe new nuts for the ends though you can re-use the existing ones if they are in good shape.
I re-did one side of my rear brakes and bent the pipe by hand and borrowed a flaring kit..turned out great.
Cost me less than $20

I don't have much experience with brakes, so I was going to fabricate them through a friend of mine, but the nuts on both ends were completely stripped -- that's where I ran into problems because I haven't been able to find the nuts anywhere. At this point, since she's my daily driver and she's been out of commission for about 6 weeks, I'm just wanting to get her back on the road asap.

I seem to remember getting new nuts at Parts Source but it was a couple of yers ago....I took the old nut and cylinder part and matched it up that way.

Hi George

I bought a pack of the flare nuts from a guy in England a while ago - I was thinking of redoing all of my brake pipes, but haven't found the time (or desire!) to do it yet. I couldn't find anywhere to buy them easily in America, but you may have more luck. I should have a few spares, so if you e-mail me your address and the nuts you need I will put a few in the post.

Cheers

I have found that the local plumbing fitting specialty store is a great place to source pipes, adaptors etc and they can get you the metric and BSP types required at a fraction of a MOSS cost.

George,

If you are not up and running yet call TRF. They normally have all of the stock brake pipes in stock. Triumph did not use the standard pipe flare that is used on US vehicles.

I just got home tonight from a meeting in San Antonio over the weekend, I can feel you pain as the weather was just beautiful.
