Triumph TR6 - Repair Manual for a 1976 TR6

Hi,

I am looking for a very detailed repair manual for a 1976 TR6. One with illustrations, photographs, and schematics.

I need to total rebuild this car. So the more it covers the better.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendation on repair manuals?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

I've seen on the net that Haynes made a TR6 repair manual, though I've never been able to find one. I have a Bentley's Manual. This being my second Triumph, I preferred the Haynes manual for my TR7, very detailed. The Bentley's is so so, but it's all I can find. You can buy it through Moss Motors. Good Luck. Jeff

I have been told that the Haynes manual is out of print. Someone I work with was looking for one and talked with the Haynes folks on it, so it looks like it came from the source.

As for the manual preference in this instance, it sounds like you need more than just the repair manual. One of the reprints of the factory parts manual would also probably come in handy. I have found when doing detailed disassembly/reassembly that having the parts manual around is a big help.

Take pictures and make notes as you disassemble. Label or bad & tag stuff. You'll be glad you did when it is time to bring things back together. Having another one of the cars around is also a big help, so hook up with the local club if there is one in your area.

Keep an eye on EBay auction site. Haynes and Bentley Manuals appear for sale on a regular basis. I've never seen Bentley's but Haynes (and lots of Photos, sketches and notes while disassembling) has worked ok for me so far. Although I think Haynes is officially out of print I got a copy (a reprint?) from Amazon (new) after a short wait.

A Britisch leyland manual will do.

Yes, the Haynes manual is out of print. I found one in a second hand book store. I purchased the Bently manual from British Victoria and found it to be excellent. I also have a set of catalogs from Moss Motors that a fellow club member gave me that I wouldn't part with. The illustrated parts break downs are better than those in any manual. The catalogs are so large and detailed that they are printed in 2 volumes.
