Triumph TR6 - Rick C. ???

Haven't seen Rick's name since end of Aug. Anybody talk with him lately
DON KELLY

Exchanged emails with him in August and asked if he was attending BCD in Bronte 9/21 - he said not likely due to work. Could be busy bringing home the bacon. Ken
Ken Shaddock

Rick's car was at Bronte however I didn't see him when I passed by.

I tried the last e-mail I have on file (used earlier this year) last week to see if he was going to Bronte and it was rejected.

I actually was thinking of posting like Don to see what was up.

Rick - how's things? Let you BBS friends know. We miss you.
Michael Petryschuk

Concerned about his past health issues.
DON KELLY

I spoke with him on Sunday at Bronte and he's doing great ! His car looked good as usual.

Thanks Charlie, a little concerned. Feel Better now.

Hi guys... just hung the phone from Rick C. We thought we'd come up with an interesting story about an abduction or something but the truth of the matter is his computer went down with a virus and his ISP thusly disabled his account. All's been rectified and he'll be up and running on this BB within a couple of days.

Pete... if you read this note it explains why he did not get in touch with you re hooking up for the run to BCD. No computer, no phone records, etc.

That's good to hear.

Well good to hear that all is well with Rick. I could not go to BCD in any event, but wondered about others. Michael P did you go this year?

So it becomes clear.... Ken , Don, Mike, and Barry are all in on the abduction and convenient " my computer is on the fritz" collaborated excuse when some of us know what really is happening.... Rick is strapped into a brain sucking device with probes and wires and vacuum tubes made by Lucas... having his huge TR knowledge base pulled out of his head so that MGB owners can truly understand how inferior their vehicles are! And what is the connection of the aforementioned fellows? Simply that they want the truth to be told at any costs and they are not afraid to sacrifice our friend Rick in the process. Sheesh guys, even Don knows more than Rick! and at the rate that Ken is rebuilding his new car he will probably know more than all of us very soon. So you might consider hooking him up to the machine in a few months or so and LETTING OUR FRIEND RICK GO!

Peace Out, Rob :op
Rob Gibbs

Whoa there locomotive breath.
Don't send those cretins my way. Rick knows more on his left baby toe than I will ever know. I am in the shadow of the master when we are together.
DON KELLY

Don,
I called Rick this afternoon. No answer on his cell phone. Left him a msg that you were pining for his quips so expect him to show up soon.

Thanks Doug, Serves him right for baling on us like that.
Computer down, sheeez, in the day and age. Got to do better than that
DON KELLY

To answer Pete's question

No I didn't go to BCD. I am still dealing with the aftermath of "bad day for Mike". See the post on the BBS with the same subject for background to my problem.

The weekend before the BCD, I stripped apart the interior to trouble shoot the Overdrive problem based on the request of the mechanic who rebuilt it and after following his troubleshooting requests concluded that it had to be a problem inside and with his rebuild.

I had the car scheduled in for the body repair (tow truck damage) the Tuesday before BCD and it was ready the Sat morning before BCD.

I decided to bring the car to the mechanic to get the OD fixed since
a.) The interior was apart and I wasn't going to put it together just for BCD when I knew it was going to have to come apart for the mechanic anyway.
b.) The mechanic was closer to the body shop than my house and it saved a good hour of driving home and then to the mechanic later.

So the mechanic has had the car since Sat and although he told me he would look at it first of the week, he didn't- finally deciding today after testing it that he has to pull the tranny off and redo the OD. I knew that 2 weeks ago. I am not impressed with this guy's customer service. Every time I call it seems that my car is next on his to do list but when I call again nothing happened. At this time the promise is all should be ready Mon or Tuesday assuming he needs no parts. If he had gotten on the job this past Mon like he promised, then the parts if needed would be on order and I would have the car.

This is the same mechanic that took 6 weeks to rebuild the tranny this past July/August. I hope he doesn't check this BBS and recognize I am referring to him otherwise my car may be sitting even longer.

Don,
Talked to Rick tonight. He's fine. It's just his computer that's sick. Caught a bug and Rick's trying to innoculate it!!

HEESSS BACK!
Yes gents I am still alive.
Yes it was a trip to the COM DOC for my laptop to get rid of a creature that took over my computers brain and drained it of life. I admit it took me a while to get around to taking it in and forgot to pay my ISP connection so went off line. I know a little about computers and could not even get into it to try to debug it.
Don, I will be much more careful of what I download in the future. There really is no free ride and what you think is free will cost you a lot in the end.
This is why I did not contact you, Pete and Mike, re going down to BCD. Before you ask, I did not win, place or show.
It is kind of you all to ask about me and I thank you. It really shows that this BBS has a very good bunch of guys on it. I agree that Ken will become the expert on TR6s.

So thanks again Don and the rest of you chaps....gotta go and post to a few threads
