Triumph TR6 - Roll call All 69 TR6s

Yeah I see lots of 71 and 74s but how many 69s are there now a days? I think the 69 is one of the rarer models due to what seemed to be a body that dissolved and melted in rain.

Anybody else out there with a 69?

Me thinks you are a proud member of a very short list. Look at it this way, You are #1.

Not so fast! There is at least one more, and it is sitting in my garage communing with the trickle charger as it waits for spring. Number CC26936L. Remember, us lucky '69 owners got the high compression heads as well as the funky seats.

All right Tony. But there goes my number 1 spot. Let's see if there are more out there. Anyone else?

Tony

Perhaps we should meet half way in Thunder Bay or Kenora.

My wife and I were near Yorkton last summer (not with the 6 though) visiting Ituna where my grandfather settled for a while when he came from Ukraine in 1928. Whereabouts are you?

Michael Petryschuk

I have a 69 but not all original.

Don't be telling me it is a 69 and a half!
Rick Crawford

Rick,

69 without rostyle wheels, without its original engine, without its original 69 seats and without other little things but it's ok for me.

Great Marc

The count is 2 and a half.

My car is also missing the original seats. The original owner switched them for the more modern ones from a 1970 TR6. My wheel disks are after market as well since we lost the originals while driving it back in the 70's. And I can't say most of the body metal is original anymore. But all else is. I think the spare is an original tire.

Now Tony , you and me can meet in a central spot- Ontario- my place.
Michael Petryschuk

I have a '69 engine in my '73, installed many years ago by the DPO. Does that make mine a '71?

Mike, sorry I'm late in getting back to you. I was enjoying the sun and snow in Red Lodge, Montana for the last few days. No, I didn't take the 6, but the car we took was British and also has six pots.

The centre of Canada is just outside of Winnipeg, where my ancestors settled after getting off the boat in 1903. They homesteaded near Jansen, Sask. a couple of years later. My maternal grandparents came from the Ukraine in 1911 and settled south of Wynyard. I work in Regina, but actually live in Emerald Park, a bedroom community just outside of the city.

I have driven through Ituna more than once. It is a lovely little town that is managing to hold its own as others wither.

....I have CC25790, damson/tan.
