Triumph TR6 - Rotating steering wheel
Well I was at the "Brits on the beach" car show in Ladfysmith VI lots of nice TR noticed that my steering wheel is rotated 180 (upside down)Now changing this doesn't seem like to big a deal but to remove the steering wheel from the steering mast I need a special tool (s3600). Is this the case?. Everying works okay but it just looks crappy |

Special tool my left cheek. The only special tool you'll need is a catchers mask to protect your snooz when it releases from the post. Whamo |

Use any wheel puller and it should work to remove the steering wheel from the column onto which it is pressed. Rotate 180 degrees and press it back on. db |

Sometime the puller is not necessary |

Thanks guys I'll give it go. Being a Canuck I have access to a goalie mask. To be completely safe I'll also wear a athletic cup!!! |

Don't even want to know how that will help! |

I wish everything was just as easy on the wedge. |

No need for mask or cup. This procedure has been around for awhile: Take nut off and remove washer. Replace nut so it is even with the end of shaft. Hold steering wheel with one hand and pull while striking the end of the shaft with a hammer. The wheel should pop off and the nut will keep the wheel from leaving an imprint on your forehead. Leaving the nut on also protects the threads. Good luck Berry |

Berry, you're to pragmatic |
Don Kelly |
I should have said "Hold steering wheel hub." Don-Pragmatic? I will have to check with the dictionary to see if I have been complimented or insulted. Berry |

Beery, my 6 went to one of your club members in your area |

Don-If the present owner spends as much time on the restoration as the previous owner, I will be pushing daisies before the car sees daylight. Rumor has it that Mike Crane was involved. Berry |
