Triumph TR6 - South Florida summers are not for the TR6!

It is so hot down here. How hot is it? Well, I drove the 6 to the cleaners this Saturday morning at about 10:00 and it was already 90 degrees and close to 100% humidity. I can't work on it, because the garage is even hotter than outside. I can't drive it to work, because if we get one of our thunderstorms, it is pretty miserable trying to drive an unairconditioned car in the heat and rain.

I long for winter! Right now, I'm driving the poor car only a couple of times a week, either early morning or after dark. I envy you guys where it is more temperate.

Waaa. It was 95 F here today and at least 90% humidity (heat index 110 F) and I put 50 miles on mine. I'm from Fla. and usually visit my parents down there in the summer, and while the sun is more intense there, the heat here is worse. No sea/land breezes. Maybe try a towel in the seat.

So thats where our summer went.

Today was great. Low 54 high of 74. Rarely see a 70 day time high this year?

We do see a few months of 80 something highs normally.

Slugging my frame around and sandblasting most of the afternoon I can assure you I worked up a water in the eyes sweat though.

If cold keeps up you may be ducking a lot more snowbirds next winter...:)

You'll get not a WHIT of sympathy from me dear John.

Not a whit.

Brent, its actually not that bad so long as you don't have to stop and so long as it doesn't rain. I remember from my moderately jaded youth driving my 63 MGB in the summer rain--everything got fogged up and it dripped on you. I don't think I'm up for that anymore!

For now, its early mornings or evenings only, but I can't wait for winter. Then the yankees will really hate to hear from us again! -- Jim

GEEESSSE John...quite your complaining!

You at least get to drive your pride and joy 365.

Come next winter, I do not want to hear a PEEP from you....not even a honk!:)

PS At the BBS BBQ we will all shed a tear for you....or you could start driving now and be here in time:)

For the last 3 months, I haven't even been able to see daylight, much less enjoy the warmth. I've been stuck on a night-time project on I-66 right at the Washington, D.C. line. Had to cancel all of my planned vacations, missed VIR, etc., to get this project done.

However, that is now all behind me, I'm back in the office again (where I can enjoy this BBS and get a paycheck at the same time), and hope to get caught up with all the news I've missed.

Well I drove through a thunderstorm and tornado with the top down comming back from Kananaskis country yesterday, on the freeway taking marble size hail stones in the forehead - whap... I got it down from 80 mph to about 50 as I hit a 8 inches of hail/snow on the highway. The TR started to skate around and swap ends. I got it all shut down and I thought man, I wished I lived in Florida or someplace where the weather is decent.....hahahah
