Triumph TR6 - southern Ont. TR get together

Hi guys,
This coming Saturday the 15th of March in my garage
from noon to whenever is the first annual BBSers
get together.I'll provide coffee, sandwiches and beer.
I'll get a good fire going and even clean up the shop
a bit. All are wellcome, email me catrace@rogers.com
or call 905 729 4982 for directions. I've got a solid
foot of snow in my yard at the moment so I doubt we
will be doing any driving. Hope to see you there,
Chris

Hi Chris

Will be there. If you only have a foot you must have missed some of the storms. Just like going to Florida.

Bill
Bill Brayford

Chris - I'll be there in spirit. Knock down a couple of wobbly ones for me Rick.
Don K.
DON KELLY

Love to attend but timing is wrong for me as my first love is skiing and right now can't get enough of the wonderful conditions.
Steven

Hi Chris,
Sadly I can't make this one but I noticed you said "FIRST ANNUAL" so I look forward to the "SECOND"
Have fun everyone, and keep an eye on Rick and Bill for me !!

I hear ya! It will be like going to FL. On my back deck the summer supper table has 3' of snow on it! The old sump pump will be working overtime this spring (if it ever gets here :-(
Charlie, will miss ya! I promise to behave if Bill does.
Steven..you need to get your priorities straight:)
Don, will do my friend!
Mati, now is your opportunity to get together with a bunch of TR lovers and pick a few brains!
There has to be a few more guys out there that can slip out the back door for a few hours!
Chris, as I said to Bill in an e-mail, this has to re-occur in the summer when we will have the 6s out.

I'm planning a drive for late in the summer of some
of my favorite roads in this area, and ther are some great ones! The drive will end at my place for a big
old Bbq and corn roast. Every one from the BBS will be
invited as well as the Toronto Triumph club.
I'll keep you posted once I have a route pick out
and a date.
Christopher Trace

What will you call this "club" ? SOBBSTRC ?

See below for answer .........

Southern Ontario BBS TR Club

Don
Don Elliott

chris,

well will us 6 pots be able to keep up with your v8 TR6 in the drive?
Steven

It all depends on how much snow he has in his driveway. You know how hard it is to transfer power to the pavement when you have no traction. I'd bet on the 6's.

Steven ,
I promise I'll be nice. I like having the use of my
license.
Don ,
BBSTTC ... British Bulletin Service and Toronto Triumph
Club
I haven't even checked with the executive to find out
if the two are allowed to mix. But doesn't matter to
me, I'll pay for the whole thing myself if I have to.
We all love these cars. It's fun to drive them,
it's fun to chat about them, that's all that counts.
The big thaw is suppose to happen this weekend,
lets hope.
Those of us that attend will raise glass to the rest.
Christopher Trace

Have fun tomorrow, I'll be there in spirit and hopefully we can do the 'guys garage' sometime when the weather gets better.

I did get my priorities straighten...thats why I am going skiing :) Sunny, warm and great snow...I've waiting for that all winter.
Steven

Steven
It should be nice enough to get a tan. We will picture you leaned up against a snow bank with ski tips crossed and the wine flask close at hand.

Thanks for hosting today. Really enjoyed it.

For those in nicer climates we stood around in some cases, T-shirts watching snowdrifts melt a "little" in 10+ heatwave. Talking about summer cars.

Took a few wrong turns on my way back and went through Forks Of Credit Park area. Nice. I guess tri-focal sunglasses are in order? See map/see speedo/see road.

Growing up in Western Canada where roads were layed out after surveyors were invented I could go 500 miles in a straight line.

Even after 30 years here I find Ontario's meandering trails confusing. Go 2 miles this way and then left a jog right a jog right because Freds Barn is in the way etc.etc. Pulled off the road to read the map just before a stop sign. A lady going the other way pulled over and ran across to ask for directions. Looking at the maps neither one of us had a clue where we where or how we got there? She was going to Orangeville and coming from Pensylvania via Erin closest known town where I was heading. We swapped info and I hope she made it. I did.

Thanks again to both.

I haven't had time to check the board in a week and am sorry to see that I missed this get together. Great idea Chris. Perhaps another can be scheduled later in the spring or early summer when I actually have my spitfire on the road.

Mike the obsessed TR6 rebuilde

While I got harassed about choosing skiing over talking cars...I must say it was stellar being on the slopes at Osler all weekend, quite the change from last weekend when it was -25*c with windchill.

Sorry I missed the meeting, hopefully we can catch up on a summer one. Certainly the Canadian contingent, namely Ontario participation takes a very active role in this BBS.
Steven

Steven
Well excuse me...Osler...If I had known it was Osler you wher talkin bout.. would have asked to come along:) I live up the road in Clarksburg..do you ever come up to the Mill or Pipers for Apre ski? We have lost about 1.5' of the white/dirty brown stuff in the last few days....should be gone by this weekend but still plenty on the orchard.

Rick Crawford

Thanks for going to so much trouble on Satuday Chris. Had a great time. Enjoyed meeting all of you. Hope to see you guys soon.
