Triumph TR6 - The new screen saver...

Gentlepeople and Gooses,

The V1 of the screen saver is up for download. It is my intent that this is only for the members and guests of the group. I have no intention of distributing it elsewhere. In fact, there is no link to it anywhere other than here. I would not presume to use your cars in any way other than for our own use. If anyone would rather not have their car in the saver please let me know and I'll be happy to remove it.

Charlie, if you wish to put a link to it on your site please feel free to do so.

It is 3.4 meg in size and will take under a minute with a broadband connection. With dialup it will take forever, sorry.

All of the pictures are in it now (of completed cars that is) from Charlie's site as of 12-20-03 along with a surprise for some of you. Make sure your sound is on when you first start it.

Watch through the saver the first time. The pics cycle fairly quickly so you'll want to take a look at the entire thing once through. Trust me on this.

It was scanned for viral infection and spyware prior to FTPing up to my domain.

It is self installing so once you download it just double click on the icon and you're off.

Sorry Mac and Linux folks, it's only for Windoze so far though I may port it one day.

Enjoy it guys.

Download it by going to:

http://www.thebriton.com/TR6.exe Please note that CASE IS IMPORTANT otherwise you'll get a file not found message. We are dealing with UNIX here you know.

Great job Jim,

Wow! And for all these years, I thought all the smart yankees moved down here! That is very impressive, Jim! Thanks so much. John.
JL Bryan

Jim
Like I said to Charlie, VERY well done. The goose is a very nice touch along with the .wav file. Who woulld have thought a Canadian goose would become popular with TR6 owners..they have been a good laugh.

It would be very nice if some how you could add a name to each .pic
Jim, how do I go about getting my pic on the screen saver...I do not think I can wait till Jan. 1st:)
All the best to you.

Rick Crawford

Jeesh, complaints already.

I'll be doing another saver in the near future just not right now.

I certainly don't have the time, or inclination, to be adding people's names to their photographs. If someone wants to take on that task and then submit the pictures to me I'll included them in the next release.

How's that?

Jim (keeper of the goose and the goose saver)
Jim Deatsch

Jim, speaking of releases...when you post about that, be sure to tell people that by sending in their names and or personal pics, they are consenting to the publication of them by you. Its probably not really necessary, but you never know. John.
JL Bryan

You're exactly right John.

I guess it was a bad idea after all.

Jim Deatsch

Jim
No it wasn't, I for one am very pleased with my new screen saver and several people outwith TR circles have admired it already
Ron
PS could you not at least give the goose a name!
R. Algie

Isn't that "Honky the Christmas Goose" ?

Don
D Hasara

Jim
Gotta agree with Ron..no, not a bad idea..after all, it did come from me:)
I do not see a problem with putting Rick C on my Pic. So, you have my permission to post my pic with my name on it.
The TRs on your EXCELLENT screen saver are, to say the least, a very fine collection of the TR6 model ( and yes, I hope to see a TR3A there also).I think everone who has so far posted a pic, is very proud of their car. I would like to know who each one belongs to. Not complaining Jim, you HAVE done an excellent job and is appreciated by all....that I am sure of!

I would help you out to put the name to a car but you are beyond me in doing this. When I open up a file like this it looks like a bunch of Geese talking Greek to me:)
Merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year.
My best to you and your family

Hi Rick
Mine's easy to tell its the only one with the steering wheel on the correct side

Only joking
Ron
R. Algie

Ron's wheel is on the correct side when viewed thru a mirror I think. Mine is the saphire blue with black top(reflective strip) and steel wheels with blck centers.
Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy Boxing day to all.
Regards, Keith
