Triumph TR6 - Three tiny holes

Three tiny holes on tops of doors, just outside of window seal area. Exactly the same on both doors, does anyone know their purpose?

Simple..tonneau cover attachment points. You will also notice across the base of the wind screen, on the inside dash area, studs, that are the front attachment points. The door attachment points where originally black plastic "male" snaps and pop rivited to car. Redily available from all LBC suppliers.
Normally the soft top stowage cover is removed and the tonneau installed so the entire interiour of the car is covered. There is a zipper down the center of the cover so you can drive the car with just the drivers side open. But then I do not think you need to worry to much about colder days or bad weather.

I now see. I asked a few months ago about the cover and my difficulty in making it fit. I could not get the cover to snap on all points. I let the thing bask in the sun hoping that it would help. Still no luck. Would you clarify that the tonneau is intended to be used without the hood (off the car)not with the hood down. May well be the answer to my problem. The cover appears to be an original as there is an strap in the center to secure to the passenger seat.

the Tonneau is designed to fit with the convert top down. You will see on the outside bottom of the rear window are snaps that both the cover and the tonneau attaches to.

Thanks so much - another puzzle answered. Within a few short weeks I should be able to drive my first TR6, without too many surprises,I hope. I am excited. Peter G

Let us get one thing straight! We do not allow people on this BBS who brag about being able to drive their 6s all year long. It is bad enough that we hear from our southern friends about how warm it is when we up north are freezin our buns off and having conversations like " do I bag her or not"?..." do I put racing stipes on her or go get a blond"?..."how do I shut this darn thing off for the winter"?

Ok, so now that u know the situation, please let us know how your first drive goes...do not tell us the temperature...just how the drive goes:)

Do u have a supplier of TR parts on one of the islands? Not sure what u have in the way of supplier catalogues. A good set to have is the ones from The Roadster Factory (TRF). E-mail them and they will send u a set of their " spare parts catalogues, volume one and two".

Ashley: lay on a good coating of vinyl/leather conditioner...it may help to stretch it while, as u put it, basking in the sun (Peter, see what I mean:) As Steven said, do not remove the rag top just put her down.

The Tonneau, to me, is useless. I own one and it is nicely tucked away under the bed. If the tonneau is on, it means: You are out driving by yourself and/or you are attempting to at least try keep some of your body warm. Go get a blond and put the top up!

Peter, congratulations on your purchase. Have fun with her and as said let us know how your first drive goes. Remember..high octane, top down, pedal to the medal!
P.S. go to the following and register her so we can see a pic of your new baby.

I think I could really use the tonneau. But only while the car is parked. I live about 20 minuites from VIR(Virginia International Raceway) and spend considerable time with the car there. I can drive from spot to spot within the track. Is really handy. Problem being that I cook the backs of my legs on the seats in the middle of the summer every time I get in. Looking from some releif from the heat, not trying to generate any. I don't really care anything about seat covers or a cockpit cover. The hood is really a pain as well. Enough whining. I guess you can never please everybody. I'll try the conditioner and sun combo and see how that fares.
Thanks,

Ashley--How about tossing a color-coordinating bath towel on the seat when you get out? I use one that the Mrs. embroidered a nice TR6 image on. BTW, I use the cockpit cover frequently and it's not a PITA to use; certainly easier than the hood or tonneau routine.
