Triumph TR6 - TR6 BLACK TAIL END
Does anybody have the details for painting the "tail end" of a TR6. What part of the panel is painted? Where does the break between the body/boot colour and the black start and finish. Anybody have a picture or instructions on how to do this correctly? |

Hi M D My understanding is the black begins at the vertical (underside) edge of the boot lid and covers the whole dished area at the back. However some cars actually left the factory without the black. A flat black I believe was standard. The attached picture and the next one will hopefully give you a view. ![]() |

Now Rick. Is that a stock or redone paint job? |
DON KELLY |
Don I would have to say it is a paint job Don since I stripped the car to bare metal. I do beleive I am accurate as to where the boot got painted black. Rick |

Oh, that was yours. Never mind ;) |
DON KELLY |
Don Do you think it looks like a touched up photo? If so ...thanks. Rick |
Rick Crawford |
No not at all , I was just making sure that the photo helped out the person who needs it. Anyone can repaint the tail any way they want. Just makin sure it was correct. Mine is body color My car and me! |

All is clear now I took photos from a book showing the correct painting to my body guy. Rick |
