Triumph TR6 - TR6 oil 'kit' for upper engine

Hey all.

I bought the Victoria British "kit" that helps get oil to the upper engine and rocker arms. It is basically a little oil line with fitting on both ends. VB did not send directions - can anyone tell me where I put it?

Thanks.

Hello,

Very simple between the oil sender near the oil filter and at the rear of the left side of head there is a small plug(bolt) and the oil enter via this place.

Mike,

do consider reading previous threads about the rocker oil feeder. Some members decided to remove the feeder after reading some experts thoughts.
Good luck

Thanks, all. I see what you mean. I'll pop it on and try it out!

I could not find any other threads that discussed this kit. I do try to look things up before starting new threads! *grin*

Mike--Congrats on your purchase of the external oil feed kit and 'welcome' to our club.

Before installing it, you should pop the valve cover and inspect the condition of the rocker shaft. It's easy to do assuming you don't have the unnecessary solid rocker spacers; with the OEM springs, you will be able to slide each rocker to the side and look at the shaft condition. If there is wear that catches your fingernail, I would not install the feed kit until you replace the rocker shaft with a tuftrided unit (and also some or all of the rockers themselves if the bushes are shot). The reason for this precaution is that excessive shaft wear will divert more oil to the top end via the kit at the expense of the lower end bearings. The kit is best installed in conjunction with a "tight" rocker set up.

Hi Mike
As one of the 'anti' rocker oil feed line brigade, the best place you can put it is in a drawer.
