WHAT!!..... are we in code now Don and Steve? .-. -.-. |

No secret code on my part, the AN refers to the designation of US Army-Navy standards (remember the Air Force was still part of the Army at the time these were first generated and the Marines are still part of the Navy). On an earlier post regarding these brackets, I had mentioned replacing the supplied pivot bolts with AN7-40A bolts (i.e AN bolt standard, 7 indicating 7/16" diameter, 40 indicating grip length of 3 7/16", bolt length of 4 3/32, alloy steel with cadmium plating and no safety wire holes, OK I guess it is sort of "code"). I also mentioned how copies of the various federal and military standards/specifications could be obtained from your friendly local Federal Depository Library for what amounts to the cost of making the copies for those of us in Baja Canada, Alaska and Hawaii. I am sure that they can be obtained in other places too, but do not have a good feel on how unless you have access to a document subscription service. I am still trying to figure out what Swallow Sidecars have to do with TR trailing arm brackets....... |
