Triumph TR6 - TRF Catalogs

All,
Charles Runyan at TRF is considering reprining the Blue and Green TRF catalogs (VOL I & II). VOL II was distributed on CD II and recently we posted VOL I to those interested in a soft copy. These are simply the BEST reference for restoration. If you're interested in a fresh hard copy of these catalogs, please email Charles at trfmail@aol.com, and let him know. With enough response, he'll likely proceed. No or little response, he'll likely discard the idea. Projected cost will be 15-20 USD. Thanks.

All I have from TRF is the TR250-TR6 Glove Box Companion 2007 with a yellow TR6 on the cover. If these are even better I'm in. I've emailed Mr. Runyan. Thanks Doug.

I have 2 copiers of the green and blue volumes. One set at the computer and one set in the garage. I had a third set but gave it away.

I fully agree with Doug. I can literally say I could not have put my (humpty dumpty) car back together without the 2 volumes. I bought my "project car" literally in boxes and used TRFs publications to assemble EVERYTHING with the correct nut bolt and washer.

Although both I and II are available in digital format, it is very useful having the hard copies.

Ken VOL II is on the CD. VOL I was available this winter in digital format. If you did not get it let me know and will snail mail you a cd copy.
BUT still get the hard copy.

In past years on this BBS, I have refered to them as the first and second testament.

Hi Rick... did not get Vol 1. Will email you my address. Thx. Ken

PS. Do you remember which CD had the re & re of trailing arms, axles and axle U joints?
Ken Shaddock

Ken
You got mail

Neither CD has a specific procedure for what you ask for. However, CDII does have the official shop manual which has procedures for everything.

Rick... I have the Bentley Manual. My impression was that the TRF Books went beyond the manual and offered better schematics or instruction. Let's use email to clarify this. Ken

Ken- No instructions. Just parts and where they go. Check this out to see.

DON KELLY

Got it Don... thanks.

The Victoria British Catalog has some pretty good drawings too. Some of these TR6 jobs are one-up efforts and there's no way I'm gonna get good at it so hence the assembly drawings are very welcome.

For example, where my steering column travels through the firewall the bushing does not hold the column rock steady so there's some play or slop in the wheel that bugs me. I'm assuming that's not normal and I want to fix it. While positioning my body upside down for a few days I'll need some schematic help to reassemble what seems to be a real unpleasant project.

The problem with VB is you have to deal with VB
DON KELLY

No experience there as yet Don. So far BPNW and Octagon Motors in Vancouver have been good to me. We are lucky in having some good sources out there including some right here in Ontario. Comes down to where one gets a comfort zone / trust in the guys answering the phone and you stick with 'em.

Now if only there was a local Doctor TR6 who made house calls for reasonable rates... I'd have them on speed dial when I'm stumped or lazy.

Hi Ken

I will take you up on your TR6 doctor at reasonable rates request. Beer!

Beer and TR6's... works for me Mike.

Ken
Just sent you an e-maill but thought I would comment on your steering wobble here.

Does the whole steering wheel AND steering column wobble(move) together or does JUST the steering wheel itself wobble(move) when you try to move it left/right up/down???

You may be like me and need to replace the 2 steering column internal bushes.
