Triumph TR6 - TR's dont all look alike
Hey folks, neat site that shows the difference between each TR. It really helps me out with the earlier models. http://home.vicnet.net.au/~tccv/TR_Identify.htm |

Marcello: Did you try the "click on the paint" trick? It didn't work on my browser. Cheers, Bob |

Bob, Works fine for me. Try it again you might be having a bad PC day. |

ya where's the Mallard? |

This site has about convinced me to abandon the Sapphire Blue in favor of the darker Royal Blue. Sorry Rick, I really intended to stay as orignial as possible, but...the darker just looks better to me and with a thin gray stripe, not red down the side!! db |

Rick, Magenta is for real. I saw one at a shop in St. Louis last year. Not the prettiets thing in the world, but pretty rare from what I hear. |

Rod: Gotta say I was disappointed in the absence of Mallard too as I'm seriously contemplating that. I'm only 3 weeks from paint and would really like to see a 6 in Mallard before I commit. Only found one Mallard TR6 on the net and could not get a good perspective on it due to poor quality photo. Anybody know of any good Mallard TR6 pics? Cheers, Bob '76-6 |

Interesting thread. I am the owner (12 years)of a 1973 TR6, from factory magenta (magenta is definitely a 1970's color),I did see a couple of TR6 recently restored in magenta 7-8 years ago at TRF party, really different. Mine was repainted 12 years ago black with wide red dealer installed stripe kit. I am preparing for a frame off restoration starting Fall 2005 and plan to change color. Had been contemplating mallard, which is a beautiful color on this car, but a friend just completed his restoration in that color, now looking for other options. Considering sapphire or royal, but might consider Inca yellow. Don't know. But would love to see pictures of Rick's in sapphire. Tony |

Rick, The interior was orginally black, but please don't hold me to that! It has such little color:) I probably won't decide between Royal Blue and Sapphire Blue until I see some of each on metal at the paint shop. I don't do samples very well. Interior won't be black, but likely some shade of blue or gray. My wife's Buick LaSabre is dark blue with steel gray leather interior and presents quite nicely. Regarding the red stripe you have, was that done by the painter or is there something available for striping? Seems that I've seen somewhere, maybe Rimmer Bros, a striping kit. db |
