Triumph TR6 - Unbaffled Valve Covers

Rick Crawford,

Did you get a picture of you valve cover oil baffle when you did your valve adjustment?

Anybody else got a picture of their solution to oil carryover from a popular aftermarket unbaffled valve cover?

Some have added the external drain tank and return line to the sump but I didn't want to go that far...

Help,
Mike

Sorry I have not done it yet. I some how have managed to misplace my Valve adjusting tool, my carb adjusting tool, and my shop manual.
I suppose I could adjust my valves the old fashioned way. Let me see if I can get at it this weekend and post an image on this thread.

Hi Mike,
This is how I made mine out of wire and a bit of metal siding..works great
I have more pix if it helps you

Charlie
Thank you sir. That is exactly mine...I did copy yours:)

I found my missing stuff...YAHO!
Mike, understand that the picture with the wire bent over is used to hold the CHARLIEANTIOILBLOWTHROUGHADAPTOR in place. The rubber hose goes over the pipe here along with the 2 little pieces of wire. You can see the tinny little bit of wire loop in the right picture just to the left of the 2 dots (looks like a C).

I Hope this is clear too you.

OK Charlie, now ya did it. 2 images in 1 image uplaoad....my brain is hurting.

Charlie/Rick,

Perfect! I see exactly what you're doing and maybe even I can make a similar CHARLIEDESIGNEDSTOPTHEOILFROMBEINGSUCKEDINTOTHEINTAKE device!

You guys on this site are the best!

If you plan on using roller rockers, you will need a smaller baffle, otherwise you foul the rockers.

Here is what mine looks like. Formed aluminum sheet that is bonded and solid riveted in place.

J S Pike

JS,

I do have roller rockers. Your install appears to give maximum clearance. I do have my rivet gun handy...might go your route. And once again, the members of this site have more than one way to skin a cat!

Thanks a bunch,
Mike

Just finished adjusting my valves and thought I would add my images of my baffle. As you can see it is a copy of Charlie's.

Rick,

Just back from a lazy week at the beach on Edisto Island (just south of Charleston, SC). Thanks for taking the time to take and post the pics of your oil baffle. Now all I have to do is decide which design and make one!

"Edisto Island (just south of Charleston, SC).

That any where near Fripp Island??
DON KELLY

Don,

Yes. Edisto is just north of Fripp...across St Helena Sound. Edisto is a very laid back, no-collared-shirts-allowed type of place.

How does it compare to Fripp accommodations wise. We do family reunions there and am always looking for a less expensive place. We usually end up renting 2 houses on the beach.
DON KELLY

I'm afraid all the coastal areas talk so the prices are very comparable..not as high as Hilton Head but getting there!
