Triumph TR6 - Vanity license plate

I've seen a couple interesting vanity license plates for a TR6: TRicky, TRusty, 6-pak, 6Appeal, 69 6, etc. What interesting ones have you seen?
Paul

Mine says, A73TR6 , Any others out there?

My '72 says 72VH00 it is not a vanity plate though, the girl at the dmv felt kind and gave me something sentimental. Where was she 30 years ago.

The one my wife wouldn't go along with: TRSICK. So TRSIX is what I got!

I tried to get 8ER 006 but settled with TR (green on white) - been offered money for them several times. Pity the Brits though - I was photographed by a (UK) guy at a gas station who was making it a theme on his holiday - apparently 'personalised' plates are not road legal in UK. My son has a mate who has a twin turbo jap buzz-box - aptly plated 'DISTURBO' - (sort of fits his character as well as the car!)

Since Roger opened the door to other cars, my son put a plate on his twin turbo mazda RUNS4NOW.

Just like the real thing, (so I hear:) expensive!
On the front, I sport an original 1971 plate. Not exactly legal, but no cop has said anything yet.

"Don't get me started" I have an on going list of vanity plate ideas in excess of three hundred!
Some of the more british flavored are SPOT ON
ELOWELOW, RED ROVR, TRIFIC, TRIOOMPH, TR 4 2, that
last one belongs to a member of the Toronto Triumph
Club so can't be used by anyone else in Ontario but could be used anywhere else in the world.
Because I did an engine swap on my TR6 I considered
plates like TRAITOR, TREASON, 8ISENOF, as I said I
have hundres more I've just misplaced the list as I
moved recently. When I find the list I'll add more.

I have a plate that matches my e-mail. I don't have it on my six but now on a P/U truck I have. I had put a v-8 in a MGB and it seemed fitting on it until I sold the car. I just keep the tag renewed just in case I get the fever again.

A friend had NOTANMG on his 6.

I wanted TNKRTOY but could only get TINKER6.

Stumbling back in from vacation...

My Honda CBX (1982, six cylinder, inline, transverse mount, sport touring bike) carrys the plate....

6 CYLS

I wanted to get that for my TR6 but, alas, it's already taken. Snicker. Durn DMV won't let you have a bike plate and a car plate the same.

Still haven't decided on what to put on my TR though. I'm thinking 7T3 TR6.

How About 'GOOSED 6'!!!

Doug (gooseless)
Doug Campbell

Hiyas Doug,

Onliest problem there is that only the members here would 'get' it.

Then I'd have to 'splain it to others.

Then Judy would think it was dumb.... oh wait !

Jim (fully goosed, thank you)

mine is ATR 6

Only until recently you could have only 2 numbers on a vanity plate I settled on 7S TR6 (the S looks from a distance as a '5'

How about "FN LUCAS" as in f***ing Lucas

I always thought about that one, however since I can get historical plates in Ohio for a one time $28 fee and never have to renew them I gave up vanity plates for good. I did have a couple cool ones on some Mercedes a few years ago. On one car, which was a 450SEL 6.9 liter I had "JEKL HYD" and on a 300SEL 6.3 I had "A SIXTY9"

The plate on my 74 TR6 is GR8D8B8, "Great Date Bait". I have had that plate on my TR for about 12 years and it always gets a reaction. Many times while stopped at traffic signals I've watched in my rear view mirror the people in the car behind me leaning forward sounding out the plate and when they get it the reactions are priceless. One of the more common questions I get now is how I was able to keep that plate when I got married. My wife loves the TR, would never be threatened by a license plate and she says she is proof that the plate is accurate.
I am a lucky guy.

Aaron- In my opinion 2 of the BEST Mercedes ever built. Boy they would fly.

Don,

Yes those M-100 powered Mercedes were so fast they were unholy! Since my shop specializes in MB repair/restoration I've had the chance to buy many of their hot rods which customers are through spending their retirement savings on. A friend of mine who is a big BMW enthusiast witnessed a burnout I did in the 6.3 which had the car practically doing a 360 around the axis of the front wheels, he was changed for life hehe!
