Triumph TR6 - wheeks

Does anyone have knowledge of a good source for TR6 rims. The wheels on my 72 just will not balance well. I'm considering the minilites but don't really have 700 bucks right now. None of my usual used sites have any used ones for sale. Any ideas?
J. L. Stein

All the regulars ie Moss, Victoria British and TRF sell rims that look like the original.

You mentioned that they will not balance well, unless the rim is bent/warped, balancing problems are usually tire related
steven

Steven, I anticipated the tire problem as I had ten year old Michelins on her. Replaced with four new pirellis. One or two of the rims are dinged unfortunately. Unless I am totally losing it(which at my age is totally within the realm)Moss, VB and the Roadster factory all picture new stock rims but they all list as NA. Things are looking dim.
Joel

I stand corrected as I just checked recent catalogs...they were in my older ones. So Joel rest asure that you are not suffering from Altzheimer's.

Here is a tip, there is a place up here in Toronto that sells Brit Car parts and I just checked their catalog and they do list original wheels. I have seen them in person and they look awesome. The price is $269 ea which is about $168 in 'real' dollars.

They also sell Minilights which is $1095 for a set of 4 or again about $684 in real money.

They also sell panasport which look like Minilights for a whole lot less...don't have a price though.

Steve; Thanks a million for the name. I just send off an email to Peninsula Imports and hopefully we can do some business. Thanks again.

WHAT...Just because our Canadian money looks like Monopoly money. Steven ya goota admit, it is easier when you pull a bill out (along with the dust bunnies) you do not have to look at whose face is on the bill (or the number)..just look at the colour (color)and u know what it is! Now if we could only get the yanks to accept that UNI:)
Rick Crawford

hey rick,

'I am Canadian' and admit that our money is a whole lot easier to know what you are pulling out of your wallet. But, if and when our money is worth more than $0.64 then I will call our money REAL
steven

JOel- You can also have your wheels straighten (if that is the right terminology for a round object). I had mine done and they balance up great. Have you checked to see if the tires are the culprits?

DON KELLY

Don I'm sure the tires are good. So far I haven't been able to find anyone that can straighten rims. I haven't tried as far south as Santa Barbara though. I think I'll wait til I hear from that Peninsula Imports that Steve mentioned. If it doesn't work out I'll move on to plan D or E or whatever.
Joel

JLS--There is a set of used rims on ebay today.
