Triumph TR6 - Wheel Nut alternatives/sources

Does anyone have an insight to wheel nuts for a TR6 with a smaller hex drive size? The std. is 7/8". I believe a 3/4" hex drive size will suffice, however I would like to maintain the thread size to avoid changing the studs. Thanks All!

Why change for a smaller hex size ? Why not buy the correct socket that fits ?

Seriously, you can buy twenty or so new ones, take them to a machine shop, and ask him to mill them down to the hex you want.

Still with all 16 of the original 7/8" hex wheel nuts.

I should explain further. The new wheels (Panasport 16x7) mounting points are recessed into the casting. A 7/8" socket will not pass through. A 3/4" socket clears the openings.

Why not have a machine shop with a drill press or a milling machine bore the clearance that you need in the openings on the Panasports ?

Because the Panasports are powder coated and you screw up the finish for one thing. I can't offer up why machine on a new wheel when I did have to counterbore the Panasports we got for my wife's car due to its hubcentric mounting.

I am going to operate on the assumption that these wheels were not purchased from Roadster since TRF has supplied wheel nuts with the wheels in the past. You might try the people that sold the wheels, some of your local custom wheel shops, also could try local parts stores or call TRF.

B.R.-Is it possible that the lug nuts use a 13/16" socket? I assumed that the lugnuts on my mag wheels (not Pansports) were 7/8", like the stock wheels. Wrong.

Hey Guys, not to worry I walked into my trusty Canadian Tire and there they were from Mcgard. Everything I need, good price warranty for life, which I hope is a long while yet cause the car is only 27 and off we go! Thanks All
