Triumph TR6 - Which Bolt Hole

Hi Tis I again

Can you help me out. Which bolt hole should be used when fitting the manifold-water pump pipe. Is the one where I have fitted it is correct? or should be the one above as indicated in the picture?

Thanks

Les

Me again,

Just thought that I would show where I am todate with the engine. The rocker cover is on for show as I have to set the valve clearances-waiting for water pump gasket....

Les

Did I mention it was +19C...

Hi Les
Not sure if this helps but the pipe should be level down the side of the block.
19 EH....I took the collision off my 6 1 week to early. Could of had another good week of driving.

Les and others, not sure which bolt hole but Rick's rationale seems sound to me. BTW, Kai Radicke has contracted an order of about 60 Stainless Steel Manifold/Water pump pipes. SS used to be available but have not been for a couple of years. When I was discussing delivery of my SS brake lines from Kai, I mentioned that I'd really like to replace the water pipe with SS not the same material that had rusted so badly. He was surprised that TRF did not still have SS and decided to work with his brake pipe supplier to build a short run. Price will in the $60USD range. I have the first one on order when Kai is satisfied with the quality.

Pipe should be level as Rick and Doug indicate.

Based on my view of your picture, I would say it is the upper hole- not the one you have used. It looks like the pipe is pointing down.

New Heater Control Valve on the market

DON KELLY

Don,
The rust around the edges makes you wonder how new? ;)
Where from? C'mon...share with us buddy!!!!

What rust? Will get back with particulars. All I can say is, it is reported to be so easy to slide that you can do it with 1 finger. Try that with your original heater control.

Funny you should say that. I recall the first cool day later that summer after doing the full restore on the car that I pulled my brand new heater knob and literally pulled so hard that I pulled it of and threw it out the back of the car ....at speed. Had to buy another:)
Still works so will not be in the market for a new one.
