Triumph TR6 - Which soft top

Spend most of my time on the MGA site, however I need a new soft top for my 75 TR6.

Originally my fathers car, now mine, (so I can't compain too much about the PO).

We need a new soft top, which one to get.

Vinyl or Canvas?

Who from?

Moss, Victorial British, The Roadster Factory, other.

This is a driver and looking for something that looks nice and will look good in a few years.

Something that maintains flexability in cold weather would be a bonus.

Thanks

Anyone knows of a manufacturer makes canvas top with rear glass window? It may be a better investment than a hard top.

How will you fold the top down with a glass rear window? To answer your question ...no, never heard of it.
Strategically located old towels on the plastic window keeps it from getting scratched when it is down.

Russell, "Something that maintains flexability in cold weather would be a bonus."...= canvas....brrrr:)

Rick,
Hate to bring this word up " M-I-A-T-A "
My fried redid her top, and have a zip out rear glass. Zipped out in the same manner as our vinyl. It is nice.

Russell--Canvas is the way to go IMHO. An alternative supplier is AA Best [http://www.aabestco.com/]. I have their Stayfast top with fixed rear window and the quality and appearance are great.

Russel,

Opinions are sometimes divergent and I owned my TR6 for 23 years. I suggest hi-quality vinyl like Amco was selling in the past. Canvas by experience is expensive and a pain in the neck to keep it nice.

Jean--I've had my Stayfast for 3 years now and have not had any problem maintaining it. Wash with a stiff brush and hose off when you're washing the rest of the car; that's all the maintenance required. Yes, they are a bit more expensive and require more patience to install, but they will outlast the vinyl and in the long run are cheaper.

Appearance-wise, the canvas is superior to vinyl IMHO. And it is immune to temperature effects.
