Triumph TR6 - Who's Synchros
Hi Everyone I have not been on this site for quite sometime. I have been out enjoying my TR6 since finishing it, did I say that; they are never finished. At present I am in the middle of pulling out the gearbox as I have a slow third gear synchro. After reading about all the bad synchros on the market where does one buy decent synchros that won't fail after a few thousand miles. I have heard that the German ones are the ones to go for, but from which supplier. One supplier suggests that you need 100 miles to break their German synchros in, that just does not seem right to me. Basically what I am asking which supplier to buy from and what brand of synchros to buy. Regards Colin |

Ok I will try another tack. Has anybody got any positive experiences regarding gearbox parts eg. Synchros and Latshafts. Colin |

Layshafts have been a problem IIRC I would think there are companies in Aus that you could get your synchros through |

Thank you Don Yes I can get synchros in Aus but way cheaper to import. One company in the USA has a heavy duty/Race layshaft that I have been considering, any experience? Regards Colin |
