Triumph TR6 - Wreath or Shield

Can anyone tell me if there are dates or eras associated with the Triumph Wreath or Shield logos. For example, my car is a 76. Are they both valid when used to bling up the car or my shop or is one more correct than the other for my vintage?

Rick... I see from the archives that you were looking to use a shield logo for your 71 (wind blocker) so can I assume the wreath might be more appropriate for a 76?

Ken
The Shield (AKA the book logo), was on the TR6 horn push up to and including 1972. After that it was simply the word Triumph to the end of the line for TR6 production.
I do beleive the Wreath was never used on the TR6 line. For sure the logo was used on the Spitfire and either or both the TR7 and 8 (I think both).
The only place there where "decals" on the TR6 line was the one at the side rear lights (the logo TR6 and then the TR6/Union Jack). There was a British Leyland badge bouncing back and forth on the front wings.

So to answer your question Ken, the only logo on a TR6 from 73 on was the TR6/Union jack at the back corners. This change in 73 was an American idea to "celebrate 20 yrs of TR production and 50 yrs for Triumph as a car manufacturer."

Thx Rick... I should have explained that I was ordering a bonnet liner and saw that Jeff at LBC Co had both shields and wreaths plus 3 colors to choose from so I was checking to see if one was a better choice than the other.

Since the car is French Blue I chose silver for the logo on the liner and since this is more of a bling thing than anything else I ordered the wreath. What the hey...

BTW, did you get my email about the Avro Arrow video? Canada Post returned it to me. I must have your address wrong.

Tried to get the maker of those to produce a Union Jack for those bonnet thingies. No go .
