MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Ceramic Coating Headers US Recommendation

I am looking into having my headers ceramic coated.

Where are the best places to go?

Who should I avoid?

What is a good price?

Jim Miller

Jim,
I can ceramic coat your headers but only on the outside. How tall are they? Too bad you live so far away. I am asking $50 per piece. I can send you a pic from the headers on my BMW with the powdercoating on. Sent me your e-mail address if you are interested.

I sent my RV8 headers to JetHot. Also did the Y-pipe.

Pete Mantell has also use JetHot fr his headers on the V8 as well as his MGC.

JET-HOT X 3
very pleased with quality and service, we made a mistake and had a pinhole in one header, JET-HOT advised us to pay transportation both ways and they would re-coat at no charge after we repaired it. would use them again based on their reputation and service. they coat inside & out. use their web-site and they will give a quote if you measure & describe what you have. the Sterling coating looks like chrome. SAFETY FAST! 5.0 EFI,B-Ford.

Jim,
Jet-Hot coated headers & downpipe look awesome on any car. Great people to work with too. Plus you have the added bonus of the heat staying in the pipes and not your engine bay.

I have used the Sterling coating on 5 sets of headers so far.

On a side note, I will be experimenting with High Temp powder coating. I'll let you know the results in the future.

I use finishlinecoatings.com
They are used by the hotrodders and racers around here. I have used them on many pieces and would have no reservations recomending them. They do many colors as well as cermachrome{high polish}. Black keeps out the most heat, cermachrome looks great.
I know they are miles away but they do use UPS.

I also used Jet-Hot with tremendous results.

Hi Jim , my headers had this wrap crap on em , it was supposed to lower outer tempatures , all it did was look extremly ugly & rust the headers . The car only had approx. 10,000 mi. when I bought it from the p.o. & the headers were purchased [new] by him , and were ugly !! [after I took off the wrap crap ] I sent em to Jet Hot and they came back VERY pretty & still look that way , its been approx. 9000? mi. I liked it [them] and it was around $85.00 cheaper than they had quoted , still it wasent cheap , but they coulda charged what they quoted . Anyway I got no complaints about Jet Hot & headers look good.

Can you Jet-Hot coat cast iron exaust manifolds? I don't see anything on their web page other than headers (thin metal)
Boyce Reeves

Yes, I believe so...Janel Demick of St.Louis recently had the exhaust manifold of her 1800cc four banger MGB "JetHotted".

They offer different warrantees depending upon if you are sending them new parts or used.

"Can you Jet-Hot coat cast iron exaust manifolds?"

Absolutely! I had my '55 MG TF manifold ceramic coated by Jet Hot.

Here's one:

Rick-

not my experience- I asked about a used set of headers, and they told me they have a lifetime rustthrough warranty.

Also had a B cast iron manifold coated in black- CI manifolds always look hokey to me in silver
greg fast

Greg...when I had my RV8 headers done (about three years ago), they stated on their website that new applications would have a "lifetime" warrantee, but used equipment were warranted for X years. (I don't remember the "x".

I'm glad to see that they've changed their tune!

Thanks for your replies. I have Jet-Hot coated headers on my 215 '67 MGB project car. I also have a '56 Corvette restro-rod project that I am trying to keep as much restro going as I can while using modern technology to improve drive ability. The gray Jet-Hot treatment looks like it would 'fit the bill' for improving the looks of rusty exaust manifolds and keeping that show room floor look.

A bit late to chime in but I had my ceramic coating done by Swain Tech Coatings, very good ppl and am well pleased with my headers now on their 3rd year. Dale Spooner was the one that put me on to them :

just my 2 cents guys !!
