MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Engine adapter plates!
Check this out! http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=86598&prmenbr=361 Has anyone used one of these? I would assume that this should mate the Buick/Rover engines to a Chevy T5. Kelly |

The 215/Rover engine block pattern is unique & not shared with any other engine by any other manufacturer. The Jeggs product applies to the standard BOP pattern, not the 215/Rover. |

I knew it was too good to be true. Seeing the BOP, I didn't think of any other apps other than "ours". :) |

Does a Buick 300 used the standard BOP pattern? |

The Buick 300 has a standard BOP bolt pattern, & can use any of the 60's, 70's & maybe 80's BOP bell housings. Maybe later if they are V8 rear wheel drive, if they existed. There are 2 styles of BOP bell housings commonly available. 1 has a bump on both sides for a starter, & the other only has a bump on the passenger side. This is easier to fit, but does not have much of an inspection plate. The 2 humper has a larger bottom opening. If you use the 2 hump, I recommend cutting away the extra hump & covering with sheet aluminum Or doing some fancy aluminum welding. I am using what I think is a Pontiac GTO piece from the mid 60's. |

I have a plate similar to that which was on an MG I bought but I suspect it was custom made. |

Jim Stuart, Thanks for the information on the bellhousings. I had a bellhousing from the '83 Firebird parts car that was the source of my T-5. I recently sold that bellhousing but wondered if I should have keep it in case I ever switched to a Buick 300. The 15 degree tilt probably wouldn't have worked well in the MGB tunnel. Al |
