MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Help!!!! Need Body Shell!!

I am just about done with my conversion! But need help finding a pre 75 rotted out body shell with a good title....You guessed right I'm from So.Cal.....Darn Smog laws. The car i have is a 1980 with a 3.9 fuel injected. Thanks in advance for all your help!
DTR Ross

DTR what year is the motor?? do you have all the smog equipment for it? Don't take this as gospel, I have been out of CA a while, but I thought that as long as the motor passed smog for the year it was produced you were OK??

Also,Doesn't CA have the 25Yr Exemption for SMOG?? Your car should be clear...

ANYWAYS, best of luck and keep up posted!! I am a bit worried some silly legislators up here are considering adopting CA emmissions standards. Ieven heard one bonehead saying they were going to let CA dictate our regulations, WTF?? Might as well let the German, chinese, (no offense to those countries, just they are far away) or whatever you name it country dictate our local laws at that point...

Cali had a 30 year rolling exemption, that, as of last year, stopped rolling at 1975. Oregon had the same deal-, but IIRC it was a 20 year roller.

Deal is, they want to shut down any post 74 exemptions as most cars went to cats in 75.

Only way around is if the motor is post year of the car (as a 3.9 would be, meets the emissions for the year of the motor, and cannot be from a truck (as these were less controlled in fruits and nuts land).

Or cheatin.

DTR,

You may want to peruse the MGB parts listings on ebay motors. Those sellers that may be listing a number of used parts may have a hulk/shell with the tags still attached, and a title in a file. Wink, wink...

I am rebuilding my '64 'B into a heritage shell. Pity you're not located a bit closer as I am wanting to part with the old shell.
Dom

Dom- Think you're missing the point.

Ross doesn't want the tin- he wants the paper. He's looking for a title and body tags for a 74 or earlier car that he can transfer to his car. This will let him bypass bi-annual smog inspections.

Of course this is merely speculation, I'm certain Ross would never do that- it would be wrong......
greg fast

Greg ffast is er....correct...but if you buy the tin it makes it legal. I'm still looking for one please help!
