MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - LT77 gearboxes
especially for Chris - rather than hijack the other thread - do you happen to know the model origin and/ spec of a 20A prefix box ( I happen to have one in my shed) ? TIA |

Sorry, no idea on this one, but Rog will know = e-mail him on roger.parker@virgin.net |

I've had a chat with the local guru, who tells me that it is impossible to say which car a 20a box came from - apparently the factory (just like Abingdon) put all sorts of boxes in all sorts of vehicles( SD1, TR, Sherpa), so without more info on internal components - gear ratios etc. we can't even start to guess what it was. Which I suspect is the reason for your question - to find out the ratios etc?? You'll have to do it by rotating the input shaft and counting the output revolutions in each gear to find out... |

Chris, thanks for checking, much appreciated. I will dig it out and do the counting, but it might not be until warmer evenings arrive! |
