MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - MGB V8 Video - Opinions??
Guys, my local auto book shop has just got a video in that is called "MGB V8 on a shoe string bugdet" (or something similar). Any one seen this video and care to give me an opinion please? regards mark |

Mark, I own the video. It was made on a shoestring budget! But it does get the points across on how to convert the crome bumper B to a V8. And it shows the MGB V8 Developments twin open pipe exhaust system, which gave me the idea of centralizing the fuel tank-Though when I did centralize mine, I did a much cleaner job than the video shows. All in all, I did learn some things, and I suppose it was worth it. Wally |

Does anyone have a highly detailed plan on converting an rubber bumper MG to a rover V8. Any info that is more detailed than that of this site would be appriciated. |

Well I got the video...45 minutes of which about the first 10 shows various MGs (all types) and planes(!!!!)with music. It then goes through a series of chapters on brakes steering, suspension etc, and boy does it go through quick..a picture of the steering rack, a couple of sentences..and on to the next chapter!! Really with the camera shots it has incredible potential to be a great video if only they spent time just explaining what they are showing, how they did it and where they got the parts...any of us could probably write the necessary script. In my opinion if offered its worth about $10 US tops. regards mark |

Forget the video, it just scratches the surface of a complex subject. A much better investment is "How to give your MGB V-8 power" by Roger Williams (I got mine from MGOC)£12.99. Everything you need to know ....and cheeper! |

I have a tape that is over 4 hrs. long that showes all that I know. It is for the U.S. boys & cars NOT the uk.cars. It goes over eng., trans. brares rears (M.G. & ford 8") Fi., sway bars, tork arms carbs, oil system, starter & alt. & what to do to a CHROME car & not change the ft. cross member & the hood that will close with no hood scoop!!!! I even show you how to put A.C. in, like I do on my cars! If you would like 1 please E-mail me Glenn |

Glenn, I received your video in the mail last night and popped it into the VCR to take a quick look. I ended up sitting in front of it most of the night. I found it not only packed with loads of great V8 conversion info, but very entertaining as well. I recommend it highly for anyone thinking about doing a conversion. Dana |
