MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - MGB vid

If anyone is interested I came across this vid of my 4.6GT taken last Saturday 9th Sept.
Im afraid its about half way through. The car chasing me is a 2.0L 16v Vauhhaul nova track car.

quality is quite bad.

Well done Mark,I think the words are - left him standing! It handles well too.
Dave Lowe

Ya smoked him.

He might have done better if he would quit looking at his copilot every time he spoke to him and concentrated on driving smoother.

Looked good in that GT, Mark!
Carl Floyd

UMMMMM WOW!!! Didn;t sound like a V8, but video cams can be distoring...

NICE NICE NICE

Thanks guys
The rules were, no overtaking on corners and only overtake on the right hand side.
Interestingly this pic was taken during the same session.http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j30/V8bloke/?action=view¤t=combe.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1

I like that still pic. Rear tires look fairly wide, what size are they?

OHHH, Even more impressive!! HEHE Only part I can see him challenging you is in the corners, and I bet that has more to do with your unwillingness to run your car on the ragged edge, seeing as how it is a beutiful beast!!

Find another chassis and build it like a racecar and whatch as you are lapping him on a session like that....
Larry Embrey

The shadow makes them look wider.
Actually they are only 195/55 15 on back and 195/50/15 front. Usually I fit 205/50 tyres on the back.

Would love to get 225's under the rear wings but there just isnt room.

Already have a roadster project underway. Trying to build it as light, strong and powerful as possible.
Limited funds mean its gonna take a while though.

Really enjoyed the vid Mark. Your car looks terrific in the photo and obviously handles well. I think the vid shows clearly the old American maxim, "There ain't no substitute for cubes". You left him for dead on the straights and he was doing OK, if a bit distracted.

I'm hoping someone will make a video of their MG V8 project doing a nice tire smoking burn off! I think it might inspire some of us to move more quickly on our conversions!
