MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - MGV8 meet in Townsend TN
I am heading to this meet in June 06 and am looking for others from the northeast that are going as well . Some road companions would be good to have on this long haul. Anybody else from NYS going ?
Gil, I'm undecided as of yet but keep in touch my e-mail address is:
I'm 25 miles north west of NYC, in Rockland County NY.
Michael S. Domanowski
I would like to make that one. I missed the Indiana one, but I definitly would be interested. I live in the Scranton, Pa. area. Drop me an email and let me know where you are and what your project is. I am doing a 78B with a 5.0/ T5 tranny. Talk to you soon.
My car was competed in summer of 2003 and I have since put about 35K miles on it. I was at meet in GR MI but didnt make the IN meet.
My car is a 79 B with a 5.0L Ford, alum heads, street cam, 500 cfm carb, T5 tranny and a D&D GM rear end. Its great fun to drive and is pretty well sorted out to my liking at this point.
In all likelyhood my route to TN would probably take me right thru Scanton.
So will keep in touch as time gets closer.

Don Hayter, Chief Design Engineer of the MGB will be attending MG 2006 in Gatlinburg and has expressed an interest in talking with owners of V8 conversions. I'm hoping that he will arrive a little early and be able to travel over to Townsend...if not, I hope that many of you will be laying over in Gatlinburg after British V8 2006 to enjoy the comaradarie that the end of the week of June 19 will provide! See www.mg2006.org for details.
Rick, would he be interested in talking to owners of V6 converted MGB's?
This event is for all modified B's right?
"This event is for all modified B's right? "
Absolutely! In fact, I'd like for you to do a V6 tech session, if you would be so kind.
I am planing on staying in Townsend and commuting to Gattlinburg for wed, thu, and fri events of MG 2006 so I will be around .
All the best
"This event is for all modified B's right? "
Yes...and other modified "British" cars! :)
Yes, of course British V8 is open to other types of conversions of British cars. (I certainly hope that we don't travel this road yet again this year.)
Don Hayter is a true gentleman, and is, of course, open and willling to talk with all of you to discuss your conversions.
As I stated earlier, I'm not sure at this time of the Hayter's arrival in Tennessee, but I'm hoping he will be in the area in time to visit Townsend.
It would be a pleasure to assist you Mr. Dan Masters.
Yes I will do it. God willing I will be in TN.
Rick, what road are you refering too. :-)
No need to answer :-)
I just hope to see more modified B's
OK guys --sorry for misleading title on this thread --I was only looking for company on my trip to Townsend 0

Merry Christmas to all
Gil....not to worry! ... rick
When is this meet. I have a 70 B-GT with 3.1 liter, auto trans and ac. I am going to be at the event in Gatlinburt. Is this one the week end before?
British V8 is being held Sunday, June 18th through Wednesday, June 21st in Townsend, TN..just about a 45 minute drive from Gatlinburg...so you can attend both meets in one week!
See www.britishv8.org > newsletter > 2006 meet for info and registration forms.
Hope to see you there!
The British conversions meet is on June 18th to June 21st in Townsend TN about 20- miles from Gatlinburg --join up and see lots of interesting cars and meet a bunch of great people.Check the other thread about this meet for full details
Bump...to keep these threads together...Bumpster
The Bump Master
I just made my res. in townsend and sent in my reg. I will be there and hope to see lots of interesting conversion. I will have to miss the last supper. I have to be in Gattlinburg to meet friends that afternoon. Hope I will not miss too much fun.
Steve...I have to miss "The Last Supper" as well...so we'll be down two disciples!
Keep me near the British V8 meet!
I'm not the phantom bumpster---but it is nice to keep the thread together :-)
OK, re-arranged my schedule. I will be driving to TN in June 06. I send my entry fee to Mr. Masters and made my reservations for both events (V8MG and MG 2006)
Plan to arrive 17 June. I need someones cell phone to keep in touch and....directions once I get near the gathering.
That's good news, Mr.G. :-) I'll see you there!
Awright, Big Bill!
Bill, what route are you planning to take to Townsend?
I seem to be on track to have my car running in time & if so, i'll be registering. might be fun to get folks to collect up along the way. I'm off I-10, but my father will likely be going with me so I'd probaly pick him up in Dallas which is off I-20 or work with a more northerly route.
Let me know if you're interested (& you won't be too emarased to be seen next to my ugly mustard mg -- i expect to have it running, but it won't be pretty by then!)
Way to go Bill! Look forward to seeing you in good ole Tennessee!
Glad to see you're going to be here! I'll send you my phone number and local maps to help you find the place by e-mail tomorrow. I assume you'll be coming via I-40? I-40 runs from California all the way to within a few miles of the host motel. If not, let me know so I'll know where to start the maps.
Will there be any TR-6 V8's at the show in Townsend?
Yes, there are usually several TR6 that come in for the event each year. Also Austin-Healey, Jensen Healey, etc.....rick
also known as a bump
Don't forget the water pump Gasket :)) You're turn to buy! Steve
Steve, I will bring a V6 kit :-) LOL
I may have to return early from TN My son is going back to Iraq in July (no date)and I want to got to Germany to see him off. He made the special team only 12 graduated, he was #2. I wish I was young again!!
Bill, much admiration and God speed to your son on his efforts and achievments..I know you are a proud Dad, and you should be!
Barrie Robinson is trying to organise a convoy from Toronto, through Port Huron (near Detroit), and then to Townsend. Anyone who wishes to join this caravan anywhere en route please contact Barrie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
