MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - New book on EFI and Electronic Engine Management.
“Electronic Engine Management” by Frank MUNDAY. ISBN: 0-949398-90-X Published in 2004 by Graffiti Publications. PO Box 232, Castlemaine, VIC, Australia. 3450. Email: graffiti@netcon.net.au www.graffitipub.com.au Perhaps of most interest to Australian and New Zealand readers due to being published in Oz and referring mostly to Oz built vehicles this book gives a good overview and detailed information on electronic engine management systems. EFI and conversions from carb / points to full EFI are covered in understandable language and the book relates to currently available technology from mainstream manufacturers like GM , Toyota , etc. as well as the main players in the aftermarket electronics systems field like Motec , Kalmaker , MSD and so on. There is also detailed information on high output alternators and high torque starter motors. Chapters are: Overview of Engine Management systems, Controlling Fuel, Controlling Ignition , Sensors and actuators , Engine control modules , Wiring and Auto Electronics , Converting to EFI and an Appendix which includes fuel rail design and fabrication, oxy sensors and a good range of useful addresses both here in OZ and in the US. The information supplements other publications by Graffiti and is a straight talking book about what works and what doesn’t. The focus is on practical applications , conversions, installations and maintenance. A valuable stand alone text it its own right and , although aimed mainly at the hotrodding guys , the benefits for those contemplating engine conversions and upgrades for MG’s are extensive. All photos are colour and the text and graphic production excellent. Format is standard A4 and 128 pages total. The usual disclaimer: Apart from finding this in my local library (!) I have no association and / or connection with either the author or the publisher. The above is given here purely as a source of information. Hopefully someone will find some of it useful and helpful. Cheers, Pete. |

No interest huh? |

Some interest. Which library? Cheers, Stu. |

Definitely interested. Hopefully not a Library too far away (ie Castemaine or Bendigo!). Dom |

Ahh yeah sorry guys but it was the Bendigo library! Most libraries have an inter library loan facility to get books not held by them for the usual lending period. Sometimes there is a cost but sometimes not...depends on how they are flushed for cash I guess. Maybe Technical Book or McGills in the city would have a copy for a quick browse. Good luck , Cheers , Pete. |

I'll be up there for the big swap meet weekend in a couple of weeks so I might just drop in. On that topic, hopefully there will be more MG bits this year at the meet, last year was a bit disappointing. Stu. |

Amazon.com is selling this book in paperback, 264 pages, for $16.97 (US). If it were me, I'd buy the book outright and keep it for reference if you intend to do much with EFI. Wayne |

Wayne, That was what I was thinking when I posted it. The bit about the library just happened to be where I first spotted the book. Cheers , Pete. |
