MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - P76 intakes

Does anyone have some photos of P76 intakes? Also the deck height dimension of the P76 would be most helpful. It turns out that the P76 is pretty close to the same as a Buick 340 apparently, perhaps a bit shorter. I'd like to consider using '64 300 heads on a 340 and think I might be able to use a P76 intake to make it work. I would need one with as large of a plenum area as possible, preferably a junk-yard part that I wouldn't need to be concerned about cutting up. Any help from you fellas down under?

Thanks,
Jim

Hi all- I'm new here, well i used to hang around on the peripheries a few years ago as I've got a factory V8 that I've had for nearly 20 years!
I've got a little experience with the P76 motor having shipped one back fron Aus some years ago. I still have the crank buried in the garage.
The block is 14mm taller than the standard BOR engine, thats crank centerline to deck. Can't remember what size the mains are etc, but if you need any dimenesions from the crank let me know...Ps i threw the block away as it has a different head bolt pattern and as the pistons and rods went missing it was of no use!

There's a pic of a stock P76 intake next to a Buick 340 intake. Stockers only came in 2bbl's.

That is just sad. How in the world can those engines even breathe?!

Maybe with this:

and these:

And I think there was a factory 4bbl intake for the 340 but it was steel.

Answer....NASAL STRIPS - it can't be those anemic looking excuses for heads and intake manifolds!
Lack of availability of performance hardware was one reason I switched from the BOP/R engines to the blue oval - the skies the limit when it comes to performance goodies for these engines - and you can buy a complete crate engine with ally heads for the price of those Stage 1 Wildcat heads on ebay.
Yeh, Chevy rules, but Ford is a close second!
