MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Pistons
Today I took my Rover 3.5lt engine block in to a machinist to have the oil pick up journal reamed out to 5/8 - ½" (as per the article from Hot Rod, March 85). Looks like I need to have the cylinders re-bored. Can anybody recommend a place in North America where I can buy a set of pistons? |

If you are in any major city, just go to an engine parts warehouse and ask for buick 215 pistons. I believe that Silv-O-Lite and Federal Mogul make some. I'm sure there are other brands. Even your local parts store should be able to order them, or possible Summit Racing. |

I had thought about pricing Buick 215 parts instead of Rover 3.5lt but I am not sure how interchangeable the internal components are. Any idea how interchangeable the Rover 3.5 and Buick 215 parts are? I.e. rings, bearings, cam, rockers, etc, etc. |

Does anyone in Australia know of local pistons/valves/pushrods etc that will fit the Rover engine? Have heard that Torana pistons will fit...?? regards mark |

Sort of got off the topic of pistons, so I have started a new thread, see: Buick 215 vs Rover 3.5 |
