By the Edelbrock script, I'd say it was made in the late 70's/early 80's. The typical problems you can expect from old 2bbl Rochester carbs is that they develop internal leaks which make them impossible to tune. They also crack at the fuel inlet fitting if overtightened. You'll never fit that under the bonnet of a B, but you can expect it to produce great midrange and high end power once its properly tuned! |

I forgot to mention - $533 is the recommended list on a new Edelbrock single 4bbl rover/buick manifold. |

That's the manifold Kurt Schley used. You can read a little about it here (and see photos of it as installed): http://www.britishv8.org/may2001.pdf Note that the Ebay offer includes aluminum spacers for installation between the carbs and the manifold - but you'd discard them if you were trying to fit the carbs under an MGB hood. |

There were two 2x2 barrel intakes. The rarest is the Edelbrock 2x2 dual plane. The other was the Offy 2x2 which was an open plenum single plane with very short runners. There are some pictures of both on my website: http://www.bacomatic.org/gallery/album13?page=2 The Offy picture is one pulled from the web, the Edelbrock 2x2 is mine. I always thought it would make a neat intake to mount a couple of throttle boby injectors on. Elsewhere on that site is an even rarer GM 2x4 barrel intake, along with pictures of Huffaker and Willpower single plane intakes. The guy that sent me the picture for the GM 2x4 also says there were 3x2 barrel GM intakes for the 215. Dan Jones St. Louis, Missouri |

I have had this set-up on my Olds 215/74 MGB for over 10 years. It has worked well and I believe it breaths better than a 4bbl at high rpm's. I have been using the stock 215 type 1" venturi Rochester's but am now converting the set-up over to 1-3/32" Chevy Rochesters to feed a 266" Olds stroker. It does take some playing around to get it tuned correctly, but if I can do it anyone can. GM did make one prototype 3 x 2bbl manifold as an experiment back around 1962. A fellow in Michigan (not Dan) has it and will not even discus selling it. "When they close my coffin, my arms will be wrapped around it." The dual 2bbl Edelbrock is still available new. D & D Fabriactions has a couple in stock and Dan puts together 3 or 4 set-ups a year. |

Is yours an Offy or an Edelbrock? The one that D&D sells is an Offy according to the catalog on their website. Dan Jones |

WOW,thanks for the info guys,I have had a Edelbrock twin two barrel model O-2BC competition type (non waterheated) on my car for over 20 years. Its a great manifold,I have made adaptors to fit english V6 webber carbs, one carb has 24mm venturis the other 27mm! one from a 2,5ltr the other a 3ltr,I have not been able to find another 24mm carb but it runs fine as it is! I have a new pair of rochester 2GC carbs but they are too big for the basic 3.5 engine I would love to get a set of 1" venturi ones, but I bet they are hard to find. thanks again Dave. |
