MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - remote oil filter

Hello all.
The engine is finally in the car evwrithing clears with the hood on i have 1/4" from top of alrenator adjusting bracket to bottom of hood.
Here is the problem: i used Glen Towery A/C motor mounts, RV8 headers, 1980 SD-1 rover motor, 1976 MGB rubber bumper cross member.Buick harmonic balancer which clears the steering rack with about 3/8". all ok so far until i tried to fit the base to the oil pump to be able to use the remote oil filter the base will not clear the steering rack this particular base is 2" thick. is there any other thiner bases and what is the manufacturer and the part number has anybody experienced this problem? any solutions? i am so close to finish the car. Any help is surely appreciated.

Performance Automotive Warehouse sells a 90 degree adapter that is 1-3/8" thick and works great.Part#TDP-1420 cost is $18.95 Phone # 818-678-3000

Romney, is the remote base you have hiting the rack or is it the fittings and hoses coming off it that are hitting? The piece Ken mentions is the same size as the normal plate in terms of how far off the block it is, but like he mentioned it is 90deg exit. Another (althoug more expensive) option is to get a new ump from the UK, one is made that is 90deg exit. I could get you a contact number, but I think it is a couple hundred $$.. I will try to get some pictures of the TD peformance item put on my website...

ken thankyou for your info i will give them a call.
Larry, thankyou for your repply, yes the base itself is hitting the steering rack. as i said this unit is a nice billet aluminum sold by Kanter Racing, but, it is too thick, i will try Ken's sugestion.

You might try Andy,s V8 parts in USA or Clive Wheatly in the UK. They both sell the factory MGB GT V8 type base. Its very low profile, but like Larry said some what spendy.
