MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Rover V8 to LT77 spigot bush
I have been trying to locate a Rover V8 to LT77 spigot bush, as per SD1s. Collier main supplier told me it no longer a stock item. Does anyone know where I can get one from or does anyone have the exact dimensions so I can have one machined up. Nick |

I am sure that Real Steel or RPI stock them. I got one from Real Steel. Martyn |

Interesting that a factory V8 I recently had the misfortune to become involved with had been fitted with an SD1 engine onto the MG gearbox. Once warm the clutch appeared to drag and gears were difficult to engage. There was also an almightly squealing when the clucth was pressed. The culprit was the SD1 steel spigot bush which was rusted and was picking up on the gearbox input shaft. I replaced it with an MGV8 bronze bush which is solved the problem. I note that the ID and OD appeared to be the same for both bushes (not accurately measured) but that the MG one was much longer. May be an alternative for which there is a known supply. Rog |

The SD1 spigot bushes I purchased have all been sintered bronze. One of them was definitely purchased from my local rover dealer ( now closed ) and the other probably came from real steel. Dave |
