This radiator hose actually fits better than the RV8 one and costs $15. Compared to about $60 for the RV8 one.
It's longer than the RV8 one and is a little lower. This suits my application of radiator far forward and engine far back perfectly. It is about three quaters of an inch longer at the thermostat end and three or four at the other end. Obviously you can cut the excess off easily enough.
It is a close fit on the thermostat end so I use a bit of grease/vasoline to make it easy.
I've been using one since about April 2005 and no problems so far.

What is the Pintara badged as in the States?

Thanks Peter,
I would echo Ricks interest as it does appear that it could be the best out there.
Thanks again

Since my last posting I have found the following info that may be of help.

The Nissan U12 Pintera was imported into the USA from 1990 to 1992 and was badged as the Nissan Stanza, using the 2.4 ltr KA24E engine.

I am planning to remove my Rover V8 4.0ltr engine from the "Silver Lady" this winter and at that time I will be able to compare the current top hose with that of the Nissan, or maybe some one else can obtain #'s sooner.

I should emphasize that thats the Range rover, or RV8 style thermostat housing. Points up and to the left at roughly 45 degrees.

I don't know what it's called in the US but the various manufacturer codes should point you in the right direction. Gates are a US/Canada company

If this link works the hose is on the left, and upside down as far as we are concerned.

The car Mike mentions is the next model and may not have the same hose.

I've found that this is a "trial & error" situation. It all depends on what manifold & thermo housing is used & radiator height will also play a part. I made a posting afew weeks back about using a Ford hose, part # AKM5422. This fitted fine with a modified Rover manifold & an original MGBV8 thermo housing. However, it fouled the fan belt when used on an Offenhauser manifold with the MG housing. Using a straight Ford housing, it JUST cleared the fan belt. The Hot rod shops sell stainless steel covered flexible hoses. They're pricey , I just wondered if anyone has tried one ? Barrie E
