MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - RV8 front suspension

Hi is it worth the £2000 outlay to fit RV8 front suspension and brakes instead of modifying the B set up and should I paint the whole heritage shell inside and out before starting to build it up or leave the outer pannels until the car is all but finnished
thanks
p Dorner

IMO the Hoyle front set up would be a better option with money left to invest in Hoyle IRS.

Frontline have an adjustable camber version front set up plus adding up to 315 dia discs and 4 pots.

Paul,
Mine has been on 3 years now and I can't fault it.The reason I bought it was because I thought an integrated factory researched and developed setup would be superior to a collection of components from seperately developed sources.I may be wrong but I'm happy with what I've got.Paint the car first and then just be careful during the build up.

Kevin,

I don't think there is anything wrong with RV8 set up apart from its expensive and still uses old technology and its a lot cheaper to use the original system which with uprated levers and neg camber works a treat. Cox & Perry I believe use it for their conversions but the Hoyle set up is fully adjustable and cheaper and if combined with rear will give a better riding car.

Paul , how about some more details of the Hoyle setup ? Pix, prices, specs, where to find etc?

Barrie,

Hawk and NG cars sell both front and rear. The MGOC sell front and front also exported to US via Doug Jackson if you want to compare prices for availabilty in Australia.
