MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Saab Ronal Minilite Alloys
Hi Guy's. I have a chance to buy a set of "15"Ronal Minilite Alloys" that fit saab 900 up to 1998. My question is does anybody know whether these will fit an MGB, And of course are they any good, I have never heard of "Ronal Minilite" Thanks Graham. |

Don't know about the "minilite" part but Saab 900 wheels up to 1987 will fit a MGB. Just pulled 4 plus the reduced size spare from a junkyard today. They are 15" wheels but had 195-60-15 tires on them. They fit the front just fine. No clearance problems with the steering knuckles (lock-to-lock). The rears are a different story due to the vague location of the MGB rear axle. On the rears the tightest clearance is the bulge for the bump stop. Each B is slightly different on this clearance so check yours carefully. The wheel arch clearance is fine. Some people have solved the bump stop bulge fit by adding spacers. Others have just "adjusted" the bulge. |

Graham, SAAB changed the bolt circle in (I think) 1987 from the 4.5" as used by the "B. Ronal is a well known supplier of wheels. Good enough for SAAB to use. I've been looking for a used set of these wheels myself to put on an 'A I'm restoring. Also, I'm already using a compact SAAB spare in my 'B. |

I can confirm that the bolt holes were changed ever so slightly after 1987. They are temptingly close but simply don't fit - but try before you buy, of course. |

Graham, The Saab minilite style wheels that I've seen used on MGB's were made my Shelby. Both names are cast on the wheel. |

Thankyou, D. Maples, Derek, Mark, joseph. Information greatly appreciated, I will Email the seller to find out what year Saab the wheels are off, Sounds like it could be crucial as to wheather they will fit or not. Thanks again, Graham. |

Hi guys, I Emailed the seller as i said, and i am now more confused than ever, he said that he bought them off a guy that had them on a 1990 Saab 900, and he put them on his 1985 Saab 900. So now i am not sure what to do, Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks again Graham. |

Obviously you need to try them or find others that will fit. They are still about - the right spacesaver in particular is worth having. Roger |

Try this website: http://www.ronalusa.com/cars.html According to Ronal, what you've been told about years fitting is not possible. Wayne |

Thanks Roger, Wayne. Roger, i can't try the wheels they are advertised on Ebay, The seller lives too far away, although that would be an ideal solution, The idea with the spacesaver is a good one thanks. Wayne, Thanks for that link for Ronal, As you say according to there listing, it is not possible that the wheels will fit both vehicles. Thankyou Graham. |

Hi again, A bit more information, the seller has emailed the info stamped on the wheels, 5.5J X 15" H2-E40 The bolt centres are 4.5" which according to my measurements is right. Does anybody know if these would be ok on my 1975 GT. Thanks in advance Graham. |
